Mq triton switch blanks

Postby Aquagen0 on Fri Aug 07, 2015 7:53 am

Does anyone know which switches suit the Mq?
Ordered this off ebay
http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Mitsubishi-Push-Switch-107B-12V-LED-LIGHT-BAR-on-off-LED-blue-Pajero-Triton-/111522437082
And have discovered the blanks have changed

New cut out is approximately 23mm x 34mm

I just brought the same switch to wire up my wife's LED light bar( she has an ASX), so I will let you know how they work. But they look the goods so far.

The same company in the above link do a Toyota 200 series replacement switch(920) which seems to be a pretty good match. Just have to give the corners a bit of a touch up.

Corners of the switch or the cut out? Don't mind hacking up a switch, not keen on cutting my brand new dash

Can trim either. Either way it doesn't need much

In same boat. Supercheap have 20mmx34.5mm cheapies which might just fit. But I'll hang out for some nicer ones.

I work at the stealer. I had my parts guy have a look. The only switches he could find are the traction control toggle switch or the diff lock switch. Couldn't see anything else and as far as im aware there isn't any genuine accessories that would run a switch

The Mitsubishi supplied driving light loom comes with an ugly switch that fits the blank. And luckily for me air on board have just chucked mq switches up on ebay @ $35. Look flash

Can somebody who has an MQ please advise what colour the backlighting in the factory stability control switch is? I know this probably sounds like a weird question, but I'm arranging some bits to build up my new GLS, and I don't pick it up until Thursday at the earliest, and I want to order some switches for the driving lights.

Thanks for that. I take it it lights up red when you push the button? Is it backlit any particular colour when the lights are on but the button isn't pushed?

Scratch the last question. I'm guessing your photo is with the lights on and the backlighting is in fact red. I shall order the switches in the green/red model to match.

The switch backlight doesn't change colour but an icon appears on the speedo cluster. There is no backlight when the lights are off.

I chose the amber coloured switches as I hoped it would match the dash lights.

We'll see when they turn up I guess?

The amber suits the dash lights but not the green on off light at the top,bit of a bugger

I can confirm that they are backlit amber when the dash lights are on, and don't change when activated.

Interestingly, the indicator lamp only comes on when the driving light/s are on, not when the button is pushed but the high beam lights aren't on. Makes sense when you think about it as they are powered via the high beam circuit. No high beam, no power = no 'on' light.

As far as the green indicator light goes, it isn't very noticeable as a) the switches are obscured by the steering wheel, and b) the HTXs light up my field of view so much that any lights in the car sort of fade into the background in comparison. :D

Are you sure you ordered amber switches? The picture on the air on board shows "red + green" whereas the amber switch has an amber top LED?

The ones I got were the red with green. They match the factory switch backlighting pretty well. (It looks more red than Amber to me)
