Z bracket at the side of the bonnet, magnetic base on the roof, bracket on a roof rack, maybe something off the back of the cab depending whether you have a canopy or what. Not sure if you can get glass mount for UHF?

I've just got a bit of aluminium flat bar crossing between the light mounts and the antenna mounted on this, with two driving lights.

I'm moving to a single light bar soon, so planning to use a flat bar that sticks out longer on the left side to create a mounting pad for the antenna.

I'd be reluctant to use any of the mounts coming out of gaps around the bonnet, risk of scraping paint or causing rust spots.

You could do the conventional through body mounting.

I have Z bracket on the left side of the bonnet. Does the job. Just wrapped it in tape to stop it rubbing.

G'day Jim,
I too have previously used the Z bracket on bonnet but needed to protect with tape etc.
Otherwise if you want easy way out, use the glass mount on front screen (or rear if no tint !)
I have used a similar one to this....

They are not as good as a high gain whip but I used for local travel only and had a magnetic roof mount for trips if necessary.
