Nudge bar driving light mounts?

Postby MervinJ on Wed Jun 05, 2013 4:50 pm

I want to mount some lights on the lower half of my nudge bar and its a 60mm bar.Does anybody know of any bolt on brackets that can be purchased to do the job?
There is a stack of 50mm clamping type things but not many around 60mm.

Thanks

Bit pricey & a long way away ...

I'm sure I've seen someone on here with lights on that part of the nudge bar ...

Could always try your local hardware store for pipe clamps etc

I just had a mate weld some extra tabs on my nudge bar. He fitted 3 extra on top and a couple on the lower bar. Wanted a couple of antenna mounting points on the top bar plus somewhere to mount a flag pole when we go play in the sand dunes..

Total cost a carton of his fav brew

So now have 4 X Hella 2000's fitted.. Will do until I save some funds to get some LED's

Where are you located? Perhaps a local towbar firm maybe able to help.

How to mount spotties on stock nudge bar ?

Postby mark.james35 on Wed Feb 17, 2016 4:54 pm

Hi Guys

I have a Triton MN and want to install light bar on my stock nudge bar additionally I want to move my spotties from top of nudge bar to bottom rod just wondering how should I mount

1- Do I buy brackers/mounts for that ?
2- Or should I drill hole in the nudge bar ?

This is related to stock nudge bar that you get from Mitsubishi the top bar has holes where I want to mount my light bar and I don't want the spotties to sit in shed so want to move them to bottom of the bar.

Can you guys suggest some ideas ?

thanks guys

Here is the link of the bar just for reference. So the top rod has holes but the bottom straight rod does not.

Thank you I can find some brackets/mounts on ebay for about $20 or less can any of you suggest what size bracket would do the trick ? and what type of bracket would be better in terms of rust or anything like that.

I think maximum on ebay go to 81mm

I would NOT drill holes in the nudge bar. I would do what I did and find a local bloke with an ally tig welder who is happy to be paid in beer.

The tabs he welded on (lower bar holding the light bar) look just like the one you can see that connects the bar to the bracket and it cost me a carton.

Buggered if I know why you would want to move your spotties lower but it is your truck I guess......

I ran a right angled bracket off the existing bolts that anchor the bar to the chassis as I couldn't find anyone to weld tabs on for me.

Hey guys, both the OPs in this merged thread were looking for solutions to mount lights on the lower crossbar which, strangely enough, was why I merged the threads.

Let's try to keep the solutions relevant to their questions, please.

Thanks Kaybee for photos your truck looks nice ;)

So you reckon it would be a stupid idea to move spotties on the lower rod. Since my spotties are Narva and they look ugly that's the only reason I wanted to mount new LED bar( Ebay bar 28 inch) in place and move spotties.

Additonaly, can you guys suggest some after market led's lights that can fit in the existing fog light cover ?

So I have to hunt someone to weld couple of mounts and hopefully accepts payment in beers ;)

Not at all stupid mate, I just would not drill holes in my nudge bar.

They won't be as effective lower down but if you want them there they will be fine. They will still sit higher than a set of spotties on a falcon or commodore and will still help spot skippies.

oh perfect this was something I was after I know practicality says to let the spotties be on top bar but I hate the way they look anyways spanked can you please advise me the size of brackets you are using to mount the spotties ? :geek:

I found plenty of mounting brackets on ebay just not sure which one will be perfect for my application and what size?

Thank you so much

Pretty sure ARB had some clamp on type brackets that went around different bar types. Measure the diameter of the bottom bar and make a call. Or get some of the soon to be released Lightforce LED & HID dual purpose lights :)
