Removing Center Console

Postby midnight on Sun Jul 01, 2012 12:47 pm

Does anyone know how to remove the center console in an ML? I have found the two snap plugs at the front, and the 2 10mm bolts in the bin under the arm rest, but it is still holding tight near the gear sticks. I'm not quite game to use force in case there are other screws or bolts.

open the console lid and remove the carpet, it comes out from the rear section 1st working forward ;)

Capitalisation (n), is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.

The centre console is in two sections. Remove the rear section first, as above. This will allow you to access two bolts holding the rear of the front section down.

There is a full description in this thread, including photos:

All of this is available through Search, but do remember that this is a computer you're talking to and computers aren't always smart enough to understand the difference between Australian and American spellings or, in fact, misspellings. "Center" will probably not give you the results you want if the original thread or post was typed "centre".

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?
