Good quality sheepskin seat covers & about 10mm of spacers were all my seats needed . I fiddled around with lumbar supports , but like Homer found - it was a bit like Goldilocks & the 3 bears - but without the "just right" bit .
I'm 6'4 in the old money , & although I still have little or no under thigh support - the [censored] is a great place to be. Last Dec. SWMBO & myself drove from Eastern Victoria to the tip of Cape York & back , in just over 3 weeks . There were no complaints about the seats !!! She must be a Saint! ( However , I think she complained about almost everything else...........)
Cheers , Grant

I have an old Status seat in the shed ( like Recaro ) and it had a lubar suport which was a straight piece of plastic that fitted into various grooves. I originally purchased the seat because of severe back pain driving my old ute. You could put a bend in the plastic depending on how much lubar you wanted and at what height. Irronically it fitted perfectley in the bars of the triton inside the frame. Result after 20 minutes from go to woe perfect lumbar. Not sure if these are still available, but they were an option you could get as they came in 3 sizes. Probably only worth about $10.

(or PM if you don't want to on the forum)

They do look very nice, how are they for comfort?

See PM re price (wife is beside me at present).
They are very comfortabke and provide excellent support on long trips.
The pump up lumbar support also allows you to adjust the amount of support required.

At lunch on the Brindies Trip did3.2 did reveal all. He has made some very good stud extenders which lift the front of the seat by about 25mm. With a washer at each end the total lift on mine was 32mm so I slid a 3mm spacer under the seat's rear mountings as well. Result was awesome! Now there is support under my thighs and I sit right back into the seat the way you're supposed to. Even the side support works better. Visibility is generally improved as well. Very, very impressed. Thanks did3.2!

Picture is after installation. The spacer is about 20mm diameter but after installing you could see the cutouts in the carper so I cut a plastic bottle to make covers, painted black and this is now all that is visible.

Hey Greeny03, just recently got a price for 2 Recaro Specialist "M" seats installed price came to $4660  , up in Mackay QLD though so could be a bit cheaper down there, going to get them though as the boss wants some more comfort all round, told her she had enough comfort on her, not what she wanted to hear.

Cheers

I look forward to fitting your spacers did3.2.

I've tried so many wreckers now looking for a damaged GLS to get the seats from they hang up when they see my caller id

Well I just had a chance to fit the seat extenders that did3.2 fabbed up for me (and hand delivered no less :D ). And all I can say is that they are friggin' awesome. Instantly you notice how much more comfortable the seat is. Its like a totally different seat. Brilliant work did3.2. Thanks a million!! :D :D

Sean,
So glad you are as happy as I am with the thread extenders.
Makes driving the Triton a true pleasure like it should be 8-) . Just did another 2 hour trip today and been averaging nearly a thousand klms a week for last 6 weeks and no complaints, back ache, leg ache like I used to get. :D
Glad I could help out.

Back to the original topic, I have never really cared about the seats in the Triton. I usually go from the Triton to a Rodeo/Ranger/Pajero/VW Shitbox Van for work...all base model trucks...I had cause to move the Mrs Corolla Sportivo today, after having driven a fair few K's the last few days in the Triton, hoppin into the Leather Sporty Seats in this little rice burner felt like heaven......
