You can sit there complaining, or you can knit me some seat belts.

i have now installed the shorter 18mm custom spacer to the drivers seat (did3.2 did one set as short as possible but i think he has 20mm 'off the shelf' ) and the 25mm ones have been relocated to the passenger side.

my 5'1" wife finds the shorter spacer better while i (6'2") probably prefer the 25mm ones but find the 18mm ones ok as well.

so if you have a short person driving go for the 20mm spacers otherwise the 25mm spacers make a huge difference to a crap seat. Certianly holds off spending $4000 on aftermarket seats..... :o

Send a PM to did3.2, he will make you a set.
I got two sets and I couldn't believe the difference they make. They make the seats much more comfortable.

To all those who think the bucket seats are crap try sitting in the passenger side of the split bench / bucket in the cab/ chasis model after about 3 hours the mind goes numb from the back pain. The missus will only travel in the ute if she drives good thing / bad thing I am not sure, but she does share the fuel cost. :|

I agree! It's just too upright for comfort and they cut out the fore/aft adjustment as well as fixing the seat back angle.
There's loads of leg room and it would be useful to be able to move it forward to stow stuff away behind it too.
Unforgiveable to have still fitted a lap belt for the centre position. All they do in aircraft is keep you in place in severe turbulence, when the impact is severe it's broken backs and eyes hanging out. Not a good result for the other 2 to witness if they survive with a few cracked ribs.

It's a shame we are so few in this forum so less likely to have one of the boffins come up with a fix.

Gotta say the driver's seat is comfortable, even on a long trip.

Just had a good look at that seat and the easiest fix might be to make four extension plates for the mountings.
It could move forward by 50mm and still stop short of the gear lever in 4th. If the front plates also lift it by 25 - 30mm that would angle the seat back more but should still clear the rear bulkhead.
Might be easier to get the bucket seat for the other option and just have one happy passenger?
:? :? :|

Yeah I'm reading you, might be the go making a bracket on the floor mounts. I've been toying with the idea of getting onto a couple of buckets and left seat mount out of a GLX-R I see there's a 4X4 wreckers wrecking a ML around Gosford but they don't want to answer the phone or the emails. Might be too frightened to give me a price. :?

It was a $250 option and I wish I had taken it in retrospect.
The GLX dual cab seat and rails would be the one to match. Cheaper than fitting both from a GLX-R and they don't sound very comfortable? :D

Well there you go might be worth talking to the Mitsu mob for a price if they were a $250.00 option. Might give em a bell on Fri. :)

bucket seats are great when compared to the bench seat, I have the 3 seater single cab and people always complained about the passenger seat (bench) but I laughed at them, until of course I actually let a mate drive for an hour a while back, there's no way in hell that's gonna happen again I can tell you, driver seat is 10 x more comfortable than the perch

Just gave them a ring and he guessed at $2,500 for the seat and couldn't quote properly without adding all the parts up because it comes in bits to assemble. He's probably not far off and the wreckers sounds the go after that if it's cheap enough[as he suggested]?
