Hey guys

I have a Tigerz11 on my Land Rover. It's true that the two speed one with the longer motor has trouble fitting some bars, but mine is a 12000lb single speed with rope and it fits fine.

I often get asked about the quality and performance.I bought it from Patrolapart in Lilydale and they fit them to Comp modified Patrols and give them a good workout, and for me it's worked well so far. The backing and warranty is very good so it is a low risk gamble.

That said, I think I'd have preferred to step up to a Superwinch. I don't like crappy things and it just feels and sounds a bit crappy coming from a Ramsey. The motor is whiny and the wireless remote is so laggy I never use it, it'll keep running for a good second or two after you've released the button. The wired controller feels plasticky and light. The biggest concern however is when you release the controller button, it doesn't stop dead like my old Ramsey did but just rolls to a stop. This leads me to believe it doesn't have a brake at all and it's just holding the weight against the gearset.

Other than that, for $845 with rope and a warranty, why not? I haven't succeeded blowing mine up yet.

The Winch Thread

Postby mattz on Sat Jun 04, 2011 7:52 pm

This is the thread you should have posted in mattnewbie.
Does anyone have a tigerz11 12000lb winch or tigerz11 12000lb 2speed winch installed in an ARB bar?
Does the 2speed fit? Is the 1200lb overkill? Are there any instalation issues or any other feed back on these winches, good or bad? They seem pretty good for the price! But I don't know to much about winches.

The only winch I have suggested would be avenger mako.

There are quite a few of us here have the Mako winch matt,

they are a tight fit on the ARB commercial bar (very close to IC) & unless you go synthetic you need to change the fairlead to suit the ARB bar (I got a Warn fairlead from fleabay)

haven't really used the winch in anger yet (either we are doing easy stuff or we are just too good & don't get stuck  )so cannot comment on that.

Hey Winches,
Can anyone help me out on this...? Got the Approval to spend some $$$ on a winch :D Catch is cant go over a grand  So I'm tossing up between the Tigerz11 10lbs or the Runva 9.5lbs....?

There are few Tigerz running on here, has anyone got any hands-on info on the runva???

I know the Mako got rated top winch in comparo but the catch is I only have 160mm on the hammer as far as width goes, where the Mako fills out at 165mm

Any feedback would be most appreciated
cheers lads

for $850 you can have a Tigerz11 12000lb winch with synthetic cable. Guy sells them on fleabay.

Mine works great pulling stumps out

Only time I have used it  They do sound crappy when running but they get pretty good warranty and the reviews are good too.

Snooozy whats the chances of the winch conecting with the IC with a roo strike, my bar moves back a fair way when I have a decent hit, also when I use a hi lift on the front bar there is alot of movement... has anyone checked the clearance when using the front bar as a lift point.... :?:

8-) Snooozy... Don't go out of your way for me tho, happy to wait till you need to take the plate off for a service or somthing.... :D
I have scratches about 1cm up the front bumper and the bar sits 5mm off the nose, the front flares have about 1cm gap to the wings and I have broken both front clips and poped the flares out a couple of times.
