So i think the Eaton is probably a bit overpriced, that said, now that Ironman are distributing as well as OL there may be some keener pricing.

My thoughts exactly. The ARB compressor is very good and very handy. I don't see any reliability gains either.

Not so much a reliability thing, just less stuff you can have problems with...

Small update,

I stopped in at Harrop again today and found they had an issue that required some machining to get the locker to fit the housing. They have now sorted that issue and they should be available mid December.

I think that we will get an update straight from the horses mouth soon ;)

thanks Sej. at least 12 months too late though, for me anyway. i went ARB - elocker development was too slow.

then when they don't sell many they will say "see there wasn't much of a market for them"

I'm waiting for the e-locker I've decided...........air hose breaks or cracks you're stuffed. Wire gets broken from a stick undermeath, you fix easliy with crimps or solder. I've already got an onboard compressor (don't need to open the bonnet to use it) and it's faster than the the ARB high output compressor. ARB and TJM (not yet available) have got something to worry about with this competition.

mate i agree and they had a guaranteed sale with me.

except they took so bloody long (whilst making continual noises about having it ready - and lets be honest it STILL isn't)

if i waited too much longer the bloody car will be on the way to the wreckers....

On the airline issue, if you carried a piece of the hose and 2 of those little one touch joiners then in theory you could repair a break provided it was external to the diff. That said, out of all the air lockers that have been installed, how many on the forum have sprung a leak? None that I've heard of. I'd rather be out there driving than sitting around waiting.

I have been out with a lux that melted the air line, I have also done a main seal and lost the front locker, both were installation issues in my mind ;)

Called up Harrop HQ today and asked about an elocker for the Triton.
Got told that the is a prototype out there which should be available in 2013. :)
When exactly remains a mystery as they dont like to give out exact dates as there can be delays.(dont we know it) but he reckons should be within the first quarter of the year. :x :x
Prices would be $1599 per unit and there is no difference in price between a front or rear elocker.
So fingers crossed. 8-)
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

E-Locker now available for the Triton

Postby macca002 on Tue May 28, 2013 3:54 pm

Went in to Opposite Lock today to put a deposit down on the xrox bar and bashplates and asked about the E-Locker.
The sales rep rang up head office down south, and apparently they just finished doing them as of last week!

$1500 for the rear
$1700 for the front
+ Fitting

Locker comes with a 3 year unconditional warranty

Nice to see they've priced it up in ARB's stratosphere. Not expecting to sell many? :?

They 'might' be a bit cheaper to order down south, but at least they have finally stepped up on to the plate.

3 year warranty is better than ARB's 2 year warranty - so might be a selling point for some.

Lokka's are also great, but are difficult to handle when cruising around in 4Hi

That is about the same as Arb done front and rear. I was quoted $3300 fitted at both ends. I already have the compressor.
Keen to get amongst it!!

I had one in the land cruiser I used to own, for me it was better than an air locker as its electronic and easier to fix off road.
Apparently the new type elocker had better components and can be put in at up to 80kmph, (correct me if I'm wrong).. The old one was up to 15kmph..

They are awesome and easy to operate and without a noisy compressor too ;p.

Was thinking Lokka in the front and Arb rear.. But now not sure.. Ha ha. Anyone got a spare $50k I can borrow to do up the triton lol
