Halfway through changing out the drum shoes on the tri the night before we leave for Melbourne

Had to stop and grab dinner before it got too late. Gotta say, pretty happy with the genuine shoes. 96,800kms from the original set, when I've been through 1 set of rotors (1st were machined and now onto second set) and 3 sets of front pads. Definitely got my money's worth, there's about 1/4mm left at one point :o

See the build up of my old Triton here.

got to fitting my modified washer bottle. I am very happy with how it turned out after cutting off the bottom and welding it up. This is all part of getting rid of those damn wings on the arb bar.

I cut the new hole for the pump (19mm hold saw is perfect) and fitted up the pump.

mounted it all up and it works just fine. I am a bit worried that the motor protrudes out just a little more then I would like and wont allow me to fit the plastic inner guard back on properly.

so tomorrow I will weld up the hole and fit the motor to the back of the bottle where it will be out of the way and protected by the new covers I am making to fill in the wing ends and protect the lights and so worth mainly by being hammered by mud and water. I just thought others might be interested who are thinking of doing the same thing.

Also drilled two new holes into the bash plate either side of the middle factory located bolt as it sheared off. Much stronger now then before.
Keen to get amongst it!!

Just droped it off to get an electric brake controller fitted (Tekonsha Primus iq)
I know I could have saved some $$$ bty doing it myself, but being a new car I'd rather someone a bit more competent than me with the Triton atm.
Tomorrow she goes in for her 1500 km service, had no issues thus far so should be an easy service.

No guns for him yet. But he's not a bad aim with the super soakers. His left arm is lethal though. Older brother is always ducking for cover.

A quick update on how the washer bottle ended up as there seemed to be quite a few members interested. I welded up the hole today and decided on a new position for the pump on the back of the washer bottle. There was really only one option but as luck turned out it was perfect (should have followed my gut and put it there first)  So here we go with round two.

Patch the hold with a piece from the off cut

Pick a spot,,,, take a big deep breath and cut the new hole

now to fit it up and neaten up the cables.

WHOLA!!!!

I know it is a small mod but I feel pretty chuffed with the finish. Now to fit up the HID kit to the H3 fog lights and fabricate the new wing covers. AWESOME!! 8-)

Not today, but earlier this week I picked up a set of 265/75's BFG mud terrains wrapped around some ROH steelies 8-)

Of course I couldn't wait to try them out, so headed down to the back of Harvey (WA). To dry for any mud, but ate up everything else I came across! Very impressed with the BFG's :D

Today I installed a new double din head unit, same one Jake has just put i his ML. Very happy with it, relatively easy install, has everything - GPS, reverse camera, bluetooth, usb, iphone, SD, DVD etc. Looks factory with the Mitsubishi logo on start up! ;)

Took mine in for the 1500 km free service, wasnt as short as they said, after 1.5hr wait they fixed an under boosting issue which I hadnt really noticed as it was like this from pickup. Not having owned a diesel 4x4 before I knew no better
Seems to run a heap smoother now and power a lot more linear, I can feel the difference in acceleration.
Also fitted some Triton mats so she's all ready for the trip away next week.

edit: forgot to add they did give me a free Werribee auto group stubby holder :D for my time lol, it now resides in my drink holder door trim bit, nice place to keep my sunnies (too big for overhead)

Got very pissed off when I had my 5th Chip it chip fitted (brand new following the board failing on the last one). Well long story shot I paid a shit load to have it dyno tuned and set up running perfect when the baord gives way. They send me a new chip and due some changes since the previous one was made with how they make them my tune no longer loads correctly. My mechanic made a call to another chip it dealer who has experienced 5 for the last 6 chips were faulty. The only solution was to fork out for more dyno time which I am not prepared to do. So I said F&%K it after a year of bloody troubles and got my money back. I am now looking at getting the job done right with a HKS FCon iD. More money but I am over pouring money into a product that will not work correctly and can not be relied on.
