Are you able to mount these roof top tents to a tradie rack? Or are they too big?

I wouldn't mount it on the cab if you have a canopy. It would be a PITA to be honest. Plus it's would be as aerodynamic as a house brick...

Some racks on the canopy would be your best option IMO.

Owwww...this is what I wish I had been doing! Oh well, I dropped off my checkerplate for my rear step towbar at the Powder Coaters today to go all black, which will match the rocksliders which should be ready by Friday!!!!

So a busy weekend for me...hopefully

I got the Extreme Tourers from Rocksliders (AVA). They look pretty solid but time will tell. I'm fitting them up on Saturday and will post some pics then. They were easy to deal with, quick and IMO they look pretty good just sitting on the garage floor. I was impressed by the Wasp product, but I like the way the AVA ones angle up slightly to provide a bit more clearance - Also Wasp is in South Australia and AVA are in QLD (not state biased, just less freight $$ given that I am in CQ) - http://www.rocksliders.com.au/

Hugh from WASP does make a kicked up set also if anyone else is interested.

The only downside is there's no alloy top plate on this style so your doors can cop a bit of gravel rash from stones flicking up through the tubes.

I wanted to go down that path with some plate welded along the bottom though it creates more issues with not being to get power coat into the corners and a possible rust point.

Either style is still going to be higher than the chassis rails.

:)

The bottom plate is better than the top plate option too IMO.

The top plate allows a stick lifted by the front tyre to angle up and catch in the slider and as the car is moving forward and the stick is still under the wheel (or just jammed in the ground) it is possible to punch through the top plate and can also damage panels once jammed.

The rear view would be useless now you've fitted a canopy anyways...

So I started putting my rear bar on today, got angry because I couldnt drill the holes straight enough to line up on the chassis rails. So I marked where the holes need to go and I will drill them tomorrow... :x

On the upside, the black powdercoat on the checker plate is pretty 8-)

Spray painted a couple "home/custom" mods, I'll update my build with them once I fit them on Saturday!! Nothing too big but could be the answer to busting front inner guards....
