Got my first real look at the new ARB deluxe bar today after picking it up on Friday evening only to notice that a big piece of the powder coat on the top of the drivers side hoop was gashed away and repaired with some touch up paint and a brush. Looks like a factory second bar and pretty poor attempt to repair it. Going back on monday to see what has to be done to put it right. Other then that I am happy i went black.

Wouldn't be suprised if they did it during the install then tried to cover it up

Hope they either replace or give you some cash/goodies mate ;)

I'm not sure fg would be the go as you have to twist and manipulate them while fitting.

Maybe rubber sheet would be the go.

Pulled off rear cover and bar from tub and then put it all back on again  , in this I hope I have stopped all the leaks and dust proof better for future outback trips

Also ran some LED strip lights in the tub while I was at it, love the brightness :D

Yeah I was trying to think about what is a reasonable amount of "credit" to accept if that is what they offer. I am doubting that they will be too keen on replacing the bar. But given the small plate that sits between the bar and the bash plate was for an MN and didn't fit (they are getting an ML one) and that on my way to Bribie yesterday I worked out my UHF is also not receiving any signal (they moved it to behind the right hand side hoop) and now the dodgy repair, it has been far from a great install. :( :( :(

So as it turns out they were pretty keen to get me a new bar. It didn't seem like much of a drama but I won't be convinced until it is fixed to the front of my rig. I am waiting for the boss to see what it will cost to order another one and do it right and send the poor salesman back to me with some offer that is not a new bar.
