Ripped out the noisy 3" SS Exhaust and replaced it with a much quieter 2.5" SS with muffler & Cat.

Have done about 50km city driving and the car is smoother at lower revs now. No where near as rough.
And a heap quieter. :D

Now a Unichip to hopefully quieten the injector rattle.

A local exhaust shop in wollongong
These guys have been around for years. In the mid 80s they hand built the extractors for my 18RC to 18RG conversion on my first hilux 4wd

My RC was biult by me in the garage.
Pretty tame with only lumpy cams and a 40mm Dellorto carby on a lynx manifold but it snarled and crackled and wasn't to bad for what i had done.
The RG was not quite blueprinted but wasn't far off.
Upgraded ported yamaha head and lumpy cams. Twin SU's i think was the last version before i moved it on.
Would do 8500rpm with more to go.
Shoot flames out the exhaust on deceleration and was awesome of the lights
Would light up both 10.5R15s with ease.
Unfortunately it would not idle under 1300rpm and didn't make any useful grunt till about 2800rpm.
Not real good in a 4wd

Grabbed a $2 army surplus peg bag from Aussie Disposals, broke out the sewing machine and added some Velcro. Perfect size for all of the pegs, ropes and adjustable straps for my brand new Darche 270 awning (which I fitted yesterday- photo in my build thread).

Took it over to Leethal, got him to give it a good going over and changed all the fluids to better quality then the stuff my local misty dealer had been dropping in. Also got a quote for dropping the box & getting my stupid noisy clutch bearings looked at. Principal dealer wanted the car for three days & lee's can do it in one. I know where I'm headed particularly when I'd rather pay for it and have it done properly then shoddy warranty work.

Also has my new shiny bits fitted

Road Safe & bushskinz intercooler sump & tranny combo

Nice mate!
I've been going to Lee for the last few services on my car, always good to deal with and know it's in capable hands! Well worth the journey from Ipswich

Sounds a bit lame but i topped up the oil!

First time since ive had the ML wheelbarrow. Never needed to top up in between services before. I know its because i fitted the manual boost controller. Wondering if i need to lower the psi a bit, 3rd and 4th gear reach 18 and a decent foot thud in 5th gear will reach just over 19psi. Im having too much fun now to go back but maybe a compromise is needed?

Checked under the hood to see where all that coolant on the ground came from.

Looks like the radiator core has finally given up after 208k! Just can't get anything that lasts these days.

Epoxied the leaks on the core, hopefully holds until a replacement can be got in.

Turns out the shroud of the electric fan has been rubbing, even though it had initially been installed with clearance.

These new cores wouldn't last long if you fitted the fan as the manufacturer intended, is with ties through the core.

Finally got round to putting my muffler delete on. I was hoping it wasnt too loud but I'm actually disappointed in how quiet it is. Can't hear any difference from inside the vehicle but the cab had been sound proofed. I had my tiptoe on the gas pedal whilst standing outside and almost can hear a bit of a lower resonation and a gentle turbo whistle but i honestly think its no louder. Happy to have a bit more flow overall. May have to get someone else to drive the wheelbarrow past me standing on the street whilst i listen. Not my wife though, she drives like she's driving miss daisy.
