Matt from Dig options is now getting in a unit which does the same sort of things as a Scangauge.
MUCH cheaper, apparently, although don't know figures yet.
My housemate is probably going to get one in the next week, so I'll let you folks know shortly how it goes.

Here's the manual for the unit above:
http://www.mavericktechnology.co.uk/sit ... ual_Sm.pdf

RRP will apparently be around $139, which is a bit cheaper than the scangauge.
Looking at the manual, they're bloody similar, methinks.

Depends on the cause of the light. Obviously if the cause is still there it will come back even if it gets cleared. The best way to find out is to find someone nearby who has one that you can test. Where are you at?

yeah it could be that, but sometimes the airbag light can come on if you've been stuffing around behind the dash or under the seats without disconnecting the battery - if it's one of those you might get it cleared with a scan gauge?

Not too sure if a scanguage will reset this type of fault

the airbag light will be the clock spring in the steering wheel failing. If it hasn't been replaced before, Mitsubishi will replace the clock spring free of charge

Bit of a dig up here guys, but trying very hard to post in the right topics and threads, so hope it's right.

2 questions.

1, Is there a forum sponsor who sells these things or is ample outdoors the place to get them from.(I hate ebay)

2, can you get a list of the fault codes.

I normall install additional temp sensors in all my trucks , but they are $150 and only do one thing and I figure these are good value considering how many things they do, so that along with fuel usage and codes and clearing i think they are very good .

So now where to buy from ??

Thanks

Ample outdoors are the oz distributors.
Most of the codes are already here somewhere. Try fault codes or obd codes or something.
You might also want to read up on the ultra gauge.

Just a reminder the scangauge will not read nor clear "vehicle specific" codes such as the common overboost on the MN Triton, Pajero or PB challenger. Very annoying. ;)

I installed my Scangauge yesterday and love it. So much information. As a former condition monitoring engineer, I'm always interested in monitoring the health of equipment and looking for patterns in the information displayed. I have already entered a few extra Xgauges, but are looking for more. Oil pressure would be nice. I noticed earlier in the thread that you can use PID's, how is this done, and how do you enter them. Is anybody able to help. I have searched the web and found lots of fault codes, but not a great deal on the Xgauges.

Calblitzen, just purchased the scan garage and keen to see if I can find the oil pressure pid for a challenger. Not sure if it is any different for the triton but do you have any luck getting the pid for it in the end?

I found a big table of PIDs on the Palmer performance site for dash command - might be worth a look?

Yeah the new scangauge does auto temp. Old ones can be reflashed to make them see it. Not sure on the others .

Have a look here.

There is a set of trial commands for ATF for Mitsubishi. If they don't work, try the CAN protocol commands for Ford or Mazda.
