I put the main unit under the passenger side seat and ran the microphone extension under the centre console. The mic connects to the extension behind the dash. There's a pic in my shed of where the mic is situated.

I screwed it into the carpet with 20mm button head wood screws. They didnt touch the metal floor. Use as many as you can to make it more secure.

Buy a Overhead console from outback in cairns will supply adaptor plates to fit most radios
Or as Speedy Gonzalez once said, it won't hurt, did it

Does anyone have one of these fitted? Some pics & price would be great...also where would you recommend getting one from other than Outback in Cairns?

Aussie Wanderer has one of the over head consoles (the black Triton in the 4WD action mag)

im curently making up an arm rest with my cb in side it ill u/l some pics when ive finnished :)
