Ah. That's interesting. Did you already try bluetooth?

I may even have a bluetooth dongle somewhere too.

If you're in Sydney I'm happy for you to come and grab it. I know you're in NSW but can't recall where now. Otherwise PM me your address and I'll send it to you once I find it. I know I saw it recently but it will be in one of about 6 different boxes so it won't be an instant thing.

Ebay from China. There looked to be safer options from the UK but they were a bit dearer. These seem solid enough and are of the ratcheting type. Lately I've done so much wiring stuff though I'm not sure I can face actually putting them to use just yet. Might give myself the weekend off.

hi,

how does the "voice controlled dial up"work please?
Also, re phone contacts, does the unit store contacts or does it simply use the contacts via bluetooth from your phone?

cheers, Rod

I think it might still be a work in progress mate. If you have a GLXR or otherwise have an MN info display it is plug and play but otherwise it is trying to find a workaround to make it work from what I gather.

I don't suppose you know what the two wires are? Wonder if it is possible to make a connection for what's missing?

Should be a long skinny one and a short fat one

Need a clear pic of the wire colours and the location of the pin

Secondly... Does anyone know how to get the pins out of the plug ?

There's usually a locking tab which you can displace with a jeweller's screwdriver or something similarly small.

Got the tab off and tried a jewellers screwdriver but it's really tight

Try again today... But néed the pics of the plugs to try and sort it out

MN 'RV meter' plug ....there is only one plug.
I had to use a sewing needle to lift the locking tab to release the wiring when i was doing other plugs....
As for wiring, you will need full wiring dia and go through each item which is connected to the RV meter plug C-171

I think we are getting close

Looks like I need to make one plug from the 2 I have.. The colours seem to line up with what I have

Can you itemise the colours for me

It's a bit hard making out the 4 on the bottom row
Couloirs and strips would be helpful :D

Thanks for the photos

Seems I'm missing 2 or 3 wires compared to your pics
Looks like a black one on the bottom ( in middle )
Blue with red strip and red with blue strip on top

I also have a black with yellow strip .. And it looks like black with white strip on the photo on the bottom

I noticed there is another box in the loop that's called a can unit
It has the wire colours I need.. Does this make any sense to anyone

yeah mate this is something I think I mentioned previously in this thread. In the ML the signals go to the CAN adapter and then out of there into the display. In the MN they've dropped the adapter. So either the signals are different or they built the adapter part of it into the display. I don't know either way. I've always assumed that the adapter was required because the display is just a dumb display and can't read CAN signals. If the wire colours are the same I'd risk it - but it's not my vehicle.
