Brash Imports S100 CO94 double din computer install

Hi,
sorry but the unit is all back together... I took these pics months ago. I can try and crop the picture to make it better ???
Best of to use the wiring dia Dave posted.
Plug C-171 is shown down the btm with the pin out numbers. This is looking at the plug from the front.
Make a list of the pin out numbers and where they connect to from the wiring diagram. eg pin out number 10 and 23 go to ambient air temp.
You then need the wiring dia from your model and do the same.
From the two lists you can compare which wire needs to go in which pin out. I wouldn't just go by colour ...
cheers, Rod

Looks like I need to make one plug from the 2 I have.. The colours seem to line up with what I have

Can you itemise the colours for me

It's a bit hard making out the 4 on the bottom row
Couloirs and strips would be helpful :D

The colour codes appear on the diagram I attached above. The pins on the plug are numbered as well.

Just be careful with your connections.

As you're connecting into the can-bus means that you have the potential to upset data to other modules on the bus or worse cause damage to them.

Now that's cool. Well done mate. What is the go with the compass do you think? Built into the display or just not enough wires or something else?

Yeah fair enough but he's already got all the above working despite having a different model so it would be nice to know why it doesn't work in case there's a way around it.

great work ...... the compass is totally separate from the std RV meter. The compass unit is the black plastic module that sits on top of the rv meter. It is then plugged into the top of RV meter unit itself..
you can see the black plastic module in this pic

Awesome job all round mate, you've been plugging away at it (pardon the pun) for a while now and you got there in the end. And now those who come afterwards have the easy run by comparison.

so let me get this straight
op you had a rv meter default in your car
did you have to add more plugs and wires to get it all working??

my question seem silly but what im getting at is i have a pb challenger xls with the mmcs in the dash im wonting to replace it with your option and get the rv meter working as in in the new head unit but i dont have a rv meter installed in the car..
do you or anyone think it can be done??
i think it will if i have all of the connection (plugs) but i dont know and the taking of of the hood cover looks a bit challenging , i seen it removed in a triton so i guess it will be the same in mine...
after xmas i think i will have a captain cook at it

Yeah but the difference here is that he had an ML and that has a different RV meter to the one in the MN. The headunit he bought was supposed to be plug and play if the MN RV meter had been in place and this work was to make it work with the ML's wiring.

So to me, that gives no guidance at all to your situation coughy. Which is the same as my situation as it happens - MN with an MMCS. One day over Christmas I may even remove the MMCS and have a look for any extra wiring. In my case the ambient temperature sensor is not in place so if they were leaving out the sensors relied upon by the RV meter I was not at all confident that they would have left the rest of the harness in place. But who knows until we get inside the dash and have a look?

Mitsubishi Multimedia something something... it's a double din headunit fitted as a factory extra. A rebadged kenwood unit in my case. But they sort of crippled it in that it has a few functions that weren't ever enabled in the Australian models and they deleted the RV meter (info display) if you went with the MMCS.

Additionally to my wiring post

If it lights up beeps and turns off ... It's the radio fuse

If it is dead, don't turn on at all.. It's the interior light fuse

I have a lot of used fuses if anyone wants to buy them

And don't forget to shrink wrap the pins before pluging in

The solid blue wire is the one that sparks when you earth it

Great post Trainer.

The RV meter the Mitsui put in these vehicles was a missed opportunity. I can't believe they couldn't have provided instantaneous fuel consumption, economy and other figures in a unit this size.

The graphic is virtually meaningless and a waste of presentation space.

I've considered replacing it with just a seven inch android tablet.

Do any of you mitsubishi employees or wreckers have access to the harness plug C-171 ?

Mitsubishi advised it only comes with the harness

I had issues around trying to get the right plug for my head unit ..... i ended up buying a couple plugs that had the female connectors size i needed. I then pulled the wires with connectors out of the plug.
So i ended up with a handful of correct size female pin connectors with wires attached. I then used correct size wiring shrink wrap on each connector so they would not be able to touch each other when inserted onto the male pins of the head unit.
I then pushed each individual connector onto the pins required.
You will need to cut old plug off, cross ref the wiring so they all match and solder the new 'mini harness' as required :)

Where did you buy the plugs? Are we talking just standard plugs from Jaycar or actual Mitsy plugs or those expensive Aerpro ones?

hi Dave,
i had to find the macthing pin sizes. Mitsubishi use 2 different sizes .... a wide male pin type and a thin male pin type.
This is the wider type:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Auto-Car-DVD- ... 1134549205?

here is the thin type (wider ones also in this plug) , virtually a pin:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MITSUBISHI-T ... OC:AU:3160

this plug i bought a couple so had enough female connectors... you can see the wider type on the outside and the tiny ones on the inside. I used a pin the release them from the plug itself:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Metra-71-7005-2 ... 7675.l2557

cheers, Rod

Hi;

I have the same problem. There are two sockets which are no where to connect to the multimedia unit. I have same multimedia set as Trainer4wd's. There is no car info on the unit. Trainer4wd posted the solution but i couldn't get it. Is there anyone who can send me a solution with photos or docs. I would like to connect rv meter function to the multimedia unit.
