Trailer brake light stopped working

Trailer brake light stopped working

Postby Dollar on Sat Sep 09, 2017 12:28 am

Hi,

I've had a look though past posts but can't the answer I'm after.

So I have pulled my tub off and put a tray on. Everything was successfully except that my parker and brake lights on the trailer don't work anymore. It is definitely an issue on the car side. The funny thing is though that the brake lights on the car still work.

The onky thing not connected is the brake light to the tub and the reverse beeper system.

I have tried figuring out the wiring harness but gone are the days where it's just a cable from the car brake lights. The wiring harness is the factory mitsubishi one which connects into a bunch of relays on the chassis. I have found what I think to be a blade fuse under the bonnet but that didn't fix it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thanks

The blinkers work OK on the trailer?

I suggest you look at the 0v return is properly connected to the vehicle chassis.
It should be the white wire in the trailor wiring

Thanks for the reply.

Yep the blinkers work fine. I'll check that and see if it fixes it.
