amp power cable

Postby timothy on Fri Nov 06, 2009 6:41 am

bought a pioneer small sub with amp build in and im wondering what the best way would be to route the cable from under the driver seat( left side of vehicle) to the batt..... i have a general idea but would like to know some other point of views as i would hate to dril holes in the firewall or doing damage to the standard cable routs

im sorry if there is already a topic about this...
i know the tritons watertightnes is verry verry crappy but i dont wane make it worse :D
so help would be highly appreciated  thnx in advance

You can pass the wires thru the firewall on passenger side.
There is already a harness going thru.
Comes out behind glove box.

Run it under the carpet L.H.S of drivers footwell.
Up over the tranny tunnel behind the bluetooth box.
Along the back of the firewall on the passenger side and through the rubber gromet that TF is talking about.
That way it comes out right near your battery 8-)

Quick suggestion, run the cable from the engine bay into the cab and keep feeding it through until you have enough cable to reach where you need to go, Not from the cab into the engine bay.
Real bastard trying to find the hole if you do it the latter way

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

You can use original mounts if you limit speaker size to 6" - just need to cut old speakers out. I had 6.5" so had to do something different.

Mate I have these Alpine DDLinear splits in my front doors. They do fit with a bit of stuffing around.
Also fitted the tweeters in up near the door mirror. What a mission that was

wel il be posting^pic's tomorow
looks stock sounds aloth more pure and less clipping(almost none unles you go to hard)
stil have to fit the pioneer ts-wx11a sub under the seat
but for now :D sounds good not like in my audi but deffinetly better then stock
and you cant see it unless you look with a flashlight in the mesh where the speakers are mounted
so now i have 6 tweeters and 4 speakers bit overkill but verry pure for heavy metal
now al i need is the sub for the low sounds il proly do that tomorow as i have a day of from work tomorow and day after
