There's an inox spray thats similar to wd40 and silicone sprays. But you can also get an inox battery conditioner from places like jaycar

I get it through work at cost price, ;)
we have an account with the Jaycar supply warehouse :)

it took 3 bottles to treat my new 70 size battery- they add a year warranty to the manufactures warranty if you add it while the battery is new 8-)

I believe that the main chemical component of Inox battery conditioner is cadmium sulphate. :geek:

Still can't believe water isn't pissing out through you vents (in you avatar) Snoozy.

My batt is starting to sound a bit weaker again with the cool weather.

I've looked at various batteries and the Century units are looking the best option Cost v Specs.

I was actually considering two of the smaller units and using the isolating type lugs - give cheap batt isolator.

the only worry is would a 600cca have enough grunt for starting?

Your point about the warning sign is an excellent idea.

yeah that's the same one I have - think Steam put me onto it. Make sure you get the right model number though as they make one that looks near identical but the battery posts are the other way around. Would be a nasty surprise when you went to put it in if you didn't notice.

Off the top of my head it's a
N70ZZL 4wd.
The N70ZZ is quite a common battery......the L is the one with the posts around the other way. ;)

Hey with winter coming up my original is struggling after about 3 years.
And cause I'm a lazy bugger can someone give me the dimensions or type of battery so I can just go get one.
Oh it looks like the above post is the model I'm looking for? Cheers

My ML GL is 4.5 years 0ld and after putting 2 litres of water into it a year ago the battery is fine. I am sure the dealer never topped it up though.

Now it gets a good run regularly and it seems OK.

Hey Snoozy, it's interesting that your build pics show this battery which has recessed and covered acess to the cells:

Yet the link to the pdf supplied has a picture of same model battery with protruding cell maintenance plugs:

Looking at the product ID's they are different and given the Century site only shows the recessed type like in your build pics it looks like the one with protruding plugs is an older model. I recon the older type is better case design because the new ones look like a bitch for maintenance, got to release the battery holder and in your case (and probably plenty of others) either remove the postive lead or loosen and pull around. It's interesting that at the bottom of the Century page they have a link to an alternative Yuasa battery that looks identical to their older model

Has anyone used the Yuasa batteries? Is a Century manufactured by Yuasa anyway? I'm in the market for a new battery, cold weather's got mine cranking slow  I'd prefer the easier access of this type of case.

'Edit' : searching around it seems Yuasa and Century are same batteries, but i'm still confused why many different sites have different pics of each type of battery, will probably need to call a seller. I note with interest the specs are identical for the Century recessed plugs unit and the Yuasa protruding plugs unit.

The century without protruding plugs has a little sight glass thing that purports to tell you when it needs water which might save on how often it needs opening. Still a pita though.

I know the Century battery is Australian made,

What I don't know is if Century make the Yuasa brand or if Yuasa make the Century brand :?

I had not even looked that closely at the pics to notice the design change.
I would expect both brand-names now use the recessed fillers.

For the number of times you need to check it I don't really think its a major issue.

last time I had the caps off was to put the inox in
