This is some great info starting to happen :D

So instead of solving a pressure problem in the auto box someone, in their infinite wisdom, decided to delete the cooler as a solution.... retards.... :x

thx patto! thats awesome work mate 8-)

Kind of makes sense.

Daryn, next time we are together you, BG and myself should swap cars for a few minutes with this test in mind. does your car feel mushy in the auto (SB off of course). again maybe the SB is an option for me but it only masks another problem. you can't fix everything by just throwing more power at it.

i think the same applies when you go a smaller diameter TC... less fluid more pressure...
i am usually suspect of my cousin, he is a bit of a motor head, so when i asked him about more performance in the auto he suggested stage 2 kits and smaller TC, now how can i argue with him when has a 9.58sec calais in AUTO.
i vote for a html version of the Gasa strip in between the 2 sites. then the goons who wanna get all parochial about their trucks can chuck rocks and shit at each other. by cyberhonky on Wed Jul 15, 2009 6:37 am

Maybe the issue is the compliance of the system, removal of the cooler would have the auto react faster to pressure changes. As the cooler would expand slightly at the pressure increase and conversely contract when the pressure is lowered?

Have asked a few more people last night, and they agree with with the truck mech. They seem to think that mitsubishi dropped the cooler to increase the fluid pressure in the box.

Interesting though they bought up what about the petrol autos, did they drop the cooler on them? Having a higher RPM throughput in the petrol auto may not be as affected as the diesel as it can turn out higher RPM creating more fluid pressure for the box to work properly. and can handle the circulation of the fluid upto the cooler and back.

Where as the diesel turning out less RPM, creating less pressure therefore struggling to circulate the pressure through to the cooler creating the sluggishness we seem to experience.

does that make sense???

Alright you petrol owners, does your auto box have a cooler and what are the build dates.

Im thinking i might drop the cooler they swapped over on my Tritons and see what happens. Anyone have a garage i can borrow for the day.

YES patto! PM sent, be a interesting test this one ;)

On a v6 note I could be bold and say they all have them given it looks like they dropped the cooler for around my production date onwards... (steve is JAN09 and has one.. mine MAR09 and not....)

Not much input form the MN guys but thinking none of them have a cooler???
