Wheel Nut Dimensions

Postby NowForThe5th on Sat Dec 17, 2011 2:30 pm

I went to put the factory wheels and tyres back on my Triton and found that the wheel nuts are missing. So.... need to get some new ones. At close to $5 each I'm not about to march down to the local Mitsubishi dealer but I do need some information on the size so I can order the right ones. I already know that they are M12x1.5 but these are available in various lengths.

Can someone run a caliper over a factory alloy wheel nut and advise the sizes. The dimensions I need are like in this drawing:

Thanks, Blue. The other wheels and tyres can stay on for the time being so no real rush.

Also for information- some of the Prados run this exact nut as well- a different source that could be cheaper would be the Toyota Stealers- I have heard they are cheaper but never confirmed ;)

You can also get wheel nuts pretty cheap from Automotive suppliers like Bursons. They list the parts by vehicle model and if it's wrong, they just swap it over and find the right one 8-)

Sorry to bring up an old thread but would these fit?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Chrome-Facto ... 457wt_1397

Overall Length in Inches- 1.48
Overall Width in Inches- 1.18
Shank Length in Inches- 0.6
Shank Width in Inches- 0.73

Everything matches up except the shank length is 0.05inches or 1.24mm longer.

P.S. they are a bargain. Called the stealership today and they quoted $5.90 a pop and that equates to $141.60 for a set of 24! Whereas the eBay set of 24 is only $59 shipped. Just want to make sure they fit before I buy them.

I got mine for $2.xx each from my local dealership.

Just ask for trade pricing, talk the lingo and you'll be fine, they hopefully won't ask for proof of trade, I usually get away with it

Might see if I get the trade price at the dealer tomorrow. I came home tonight to find some tw#t removed 20 of the wheel nuts!!!!!! Assume they were interrupted. This was at rouse hill town centre.

Glad I noticed reversing out the parking space rather than at full throttle

(I got some temporary ones in case you thought I was brave enough to drive with them missing) :D

Hi guys,
When my A/T tyres were fitted the nuts have been done up impossibly tight. No problem I am going to use my 1/2" drive breaker bar to get more leverage than the factory tyre lever. What size socket do I need to buy please? The factory tyre lever doesn't have any markings and I don't want to guess.

I have 16" factory alloys on a 2014 MN GLR

thanks in advance!

I have all the wheel nut sizes and a rattle gun as well as a 3 foot breaker bar if you're game to cross the bridge and brave the eastern suburbs?

My 09 mn glxr (17 inch rims) is 21mm.

Thanks for this thread.

I just realised that I don't have wheel nuts for my spare, a steelie. I'm bloody sure the Speedy ones that came with the mags wont fit.

The wheel nuts for steelies are also the same as a Nissan...just can't remember if it's the Navara, Patrol or both

That's what the tyre shop guy told me when he gave me a handful of spares he had lying around...

Thanks for the offer Cowboy Dave I worked it out at the local Repco store, a 21mm deep socket (6 point) was purchased to use with my breaker bar :D

Now I can remove the rear wheels and give the brakes a good hose out after the play in the mud at the bottom of Baal Bone gap last Saturday. My car and another Triton will be on 4WD tv in 6-8 weeks or so. It was cool how they used a TV camera and two drones to film the group

Thanks for the info everybody

Can anyone advise the wheel nut tensioning required on a GLX-R 2014 model?

I was checking them yesterday & they are bloody tight, I will use a torque wrench to tighten them when I need to change, but can't find this info anywhere?

Alloy rim.

Thanks
