Postby tezza08 on Sun May 01, 2011 7:10 am

Hi all!

i just trial fitted a set of 16x8 sunnys on the tri using the standard wheel nuts off the alloys and was wondering if i need to find some different nuts if i was to run the steelies permantly :?: the ones for the alloys have the taper machiend on them (to suit the spare i presume :? ) but they dont give me much confidence for the long haul

any info from you guys running steelies would be great :D

cheers tezza

Yes. You have to get a new set of nuts for the steelies.

I cant see why you cant run them apart from the fact that they dont look right. They are machined to run a steel rim so why not. I have two sets of wheel nuts at home from an excel, designed for steel wheels and the machining looks exactly the same.
Happy to be provrn wrong though

I was told you could use the same nuts by tyre fitter but went with new ones just to be safe.
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???
