hey guys i know its a little off topic, but is there anyone out there thats had a big lift put in (4Inches or more) and if so what have you gotten done?? cant seem to find anyone on here thats had more then a 2inch lift either suspension or body i find it surprising with so many members on here that someone hasn't gone all out....

Try this thread mate:

The short version is that the stuff you want is out there, but it is of doubtful quality and legality, so be careful - that's why you won't read too much about it, things just start getting too hard after 2 inches...

Measured mine from centre of wheel to under flare it is
575mm F/R
576mm F/L
rear as its a tray back I measured to under the side of the tray, lowest part
R/R 700mm
L/R 700mm

I was thinking it still looks a bit low even after the lift I had done a couple of weeks ago and was thinking of a twoinch2" Body lift.
Anyone done this?

One of the trayback guys - Ben? - did a thread about a body lift. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

How much do the flares extend down as opposed to the original wheel arch? Would be good to know for comparison and i can't find it mentioned anywhere else.

My heights are as follows:
DSF: 557 PSF: 556
DSR: 595 PSR: 589 (From the base of the tray)
On stock suspension without flares at 25000km.

After about 2000 km since the lift

DSF 590mm
PSF 600mm
DSR 600mm
PSR 605mm

Single cab with no flares, rears measured to the underside of the tray with a 2" ultimate comfort lift
No more Triton....

Now where did I leave that Patrol ;)

Hey Guys,

Thought I'd put in my 2c.

I am heading to the cape in June, so the Tri is going back to Dobinson's next week for a tighten, rebush general check etc. The original lift went in on 17th September 2010 and since then I have done 21,000k. It feels to me like it has dropped heaps and I have only added an ARB rear step in that time - so I measured it.

2 days after initial installation in 2010
FR - 585mm - Now - 578mm
FL - 580mm - Now - 573mm
RR - 630mm - Now - 625mm
RL - 635mm - Now - 625mm

Not the heights that some are recording here, but I am happy with this and I have no shudder. I must just be used to the height as overall it hasn't moved more than 10mm in 19months. I tow a 2.2t caravan and we have done about 10,000k in that time with the van so I am quite impressed with the rears.

Ride is good, possibly a little harsh on occasion when not loaded, but overall happy with the Dobinson's offering.

Ride Heights

Mate with ride heights like that I wouldn't be complaining after having it in since 2010 as well. Before I had mine fixed I had both front sitting at 555mm after only 12000 Kms.

Well, suspension Stage IV required replacing the blue front coils which had dropped 35mm with new black one. Back up to 585/590 at the front now and looks good again. Had the coils swapped over on to the shocks by Jax and that was one of the best $40 investments I've made in a long time. Fitted them on to the car myself though and getting any compression out of these new coils was next to impossible. Ride is OK though, albeit a touch firm.

just had this kit fitted today. Took Dennis at Toowoomba suspension and steering and crew, roughly 4 hours, which included wheel alighnment. i could not be happier. would highly recommend Dennis, top bloke and knows his stuff. i did not do ride heights, before, but it was all standard. now it is as follows:

front left: 568
front right:570
back left:645
rear right:647

drove 180 kays back to Brisbane north and loved the way the handling is. just for a bit of info to all future suspension upgraders.

MITSUBISHI TRITON 4X4 ML-MN 06-ON 40MM SUSPENSION LOAD LIFT KIT from toowoomba steering.

FRONT RAW NITRO MAX 4X4 SHOCK ABSORBERS
■ REAR RAW NITRO 4X4 SHOCK ABSORBERS
■ KING SPRINGS TO INCREASE THE HEIGHT IN THE FRONT
■ EFS RAISED REAR LEAF SPRINGS
(NOTE THESE SPRINGS CAN CAUSE DRIVELINE VIBRATION DUE TO INCREASE SHAFT ANGLE RECOMMEND CASTOR WEDGES FOR REAR AXLE)
■ UBOLTS
■ GREASEABLE FRONT EYE PIN
■ SWING SHACKLES
■ SUPERPRO BUSHING KIT

Hi guys,
Just had my MN lifted I used dobinsons heavy duty all round. Really happy with the lift but I have some concerns as the bum stops had to be taken out to fit the fronts in and If I put them back there would only be about 3mm between. Also it's been 5 days now and it hasn't dropped in height to put back bum stops.

Any comments would help.

Original height.
Front both 525mm
Rear both 545mm

Lifted heights.
Front both 600mm
Back both 640mm

My ride heights after 2k on the Ulitmate is

Fronts are both 575 which seems ok 8-)

Rear Passenger - 605mm which seems a bit lower then what most people are getting but its acceptable ;)

Rear Driver - 580mm which is making the ute look like its limping

I'm not sure why this is as there is no weight in the back and has a full tank of fuel on the pass side.

Is my rear leaf spring stuffed??

i had medium duty put in as that was recommemded by Ultimate - maybe that spring is comfort duty....

i want to fix it asap as it plays on my mind and i hate the way it sits - crooked
It is what it is...

^^^^ I doubt you could seriously notice a 25mm difference :? , fraz gave you advise already so no need complaining in here about it again

If it makes you feel better I just measured mine which have been in for 18 months or more

Drivers side = 605 mm
Passo side = 630 mm

3/4 tank of diesel and tub is just about empty and I have the same difference ;)
