Ironman Suspension

Postby RossyB07 on Thu Jan 06, 2011 10:19 am

Hi All,

Just rang up Ironman 4x4 in Brisbane to get a quote & sus out their gear & the highest they will lift my MN Triton is 40mm front and rear because their reason was the tailshaft starts vibrating if you lift any higher.

Is this true? I would at least like it 50mm, no less..??

Ironman suspension - the 300kg constant load - will only give you 20mm front and 40mm rear.
Well, that's with a steel winch bar on the front.
Their heavy duty does 40mm front and rear I believe, but TJM who supplied and fitted weren't happy to sell me the HD as they said I would not like the ride or handling of the vehicle because the HD would not suit my style of driving and usual load.

My guess is that if lift is your only criteria then Ironman may not be the suspension for you. But there's much more to it than just lift, I would have liked more lift on mine, but also wanted it to be pleasant to drive.
Ultimate Suspension may have something that gives you more lift and still keeps the handling. They are a sponsor on this forum and well respected for their product and service. Have a look under their section on the forum index, or search up Ultimate Suspension on the search feature.

Thanks for the info.
Just got off the phone to Ultimate Suspension. Very impressed so far with their information about the triton setup. Even got recommended an Automotive place up here in brisbane that have installed their kits with no problems.

So far so good.

Glad to have helped.
From what I've heard, you can't go wrong with Ultimate.

Ironman suspension

Postby dirtpilot72 on Tue Apr 26, 2011 9:37 pm

I recently had a Ironman suspension kit fitted at thei HQ in Westall Vic. Their service was excellent. It only took 6 hours to fit, free tweak in a few weeks, pleasant no bullshit salesperson. Value for money seems good. $1500 supplied, fitted and free greasable shackles included. 40mm height gain at the moment, suspension feels lightyears ahead of the stock rubbish. I realise its a budget kit but so far so good.

any updates on how these kits are going after a year or two?
earlier posts are from early 2008 so would be a good indication of how the kits lasted over time and how much they sagged etc.
still worth going for the budget ironman kit?
seems like good value for money

tritonmea, as you probably noticed, this thread dates back to 2008/9 and even the recent posts are pretty old. The member you're quoting isn't on here any more so you won't get a response from him.

What these guys are saying, though, is pretty much correct. Ironman offer two spring choices and the softer ones will give you 20-40mm while the harder ones will give more lift but a much harsher ride. Even the member who left, who had Ironman suspension on his Triton, recommended Ultimate. I'd say that was one of his better recommendations. ;)

Hi, First timer 4wd owner. I have just bought a 2011 MN triton with ordinal suspension. The front end was looking very say. Went to opposite Lock in Caloundra and installed a iron man 2" upgrade. I got to say its made a huge difference to the handling and driving. $2300 was worth it
