How about throwing a can of injector cleaner in the tank and replacing the fuel filter?
It's a start in the process of elimination unless someone with a 3.2???? has experienced the symptoms and knows the fix? :?

Hi mate,
I too have a 2007 D/Cab Turbo Diesel, The same issue is bugging me as well.
It will misfire between 2200 - 2400 rpm in all gears, stay below it or get above it & it is fine.
I have had it serviced regularly, filters cleaned etc. The mechanic suggested it might be a turbo issue ??
I will be taking it to Mitsubishi for it's next service ( 2 weeks time ) & will be asking them.
I will keep you posted.
In the mean time if anyone has fixed this, please let me know what the problem was.

Check carbon build up around the butterfly valves (swirl control valves) in the intake manifold. Butterfly valves in the intake manifold are set to fully open at 2700rpm. I had the same until manifolds were cleaned out. Also do search on disabling the swirl control valves.

Fixed it......!!!

As in my previous post, my 2007 Triton was also misfiring & losing power in the 2200 - 2400 rev range,
Took it to the mechanic for it's 140k service & was told to take it to mitsubishi as it was a computer problem.
( wont be going back there any time soon )
Was speaking to a guy at work who is a Diesel Mechanic & said it would be my EGR Valve ( Exhaust Gas Recirculation )
It would be blocked up with carbon / oil etc & will need to be removed & cleaned.
It took me around 2 - 3 hrs ( will be quicker next time ) He was right, there was almost a full dust pan of crap through the valve & manifold it bolts to, amazing it ran at all.
Note: Disconnect the battery before removing the valve.
I didn't & the ute wouldn't start, would turn over but not fire. It got the better of me & after lots of phone calls & google searches, I thought I will turn this over untill the bettery gives up. It took about 4 long sessions but it started with a shutter & initially blew a fair bit of smoke. I was told the computer registers that something is wrong with the emmissions control system ??? But, disconnecting the battery apparently solves this.

End result - the ute runs smoothly through all rev ranges with no loss of power or splutters.
For some reason I cant insert pictures ?? Any tips ?

Crikey! Lucky we found the cause of that problem. Could be salvation for many owners on here.

Not the ones who have fitted a blanking plate just before the EGR valve. Theirs will be forever clean along with the manifolds.
