This car is like a bad drug habit. It is taking all my money and time, my family are concerned, but new mods just feel sooooooo good.

Thinking of getting one myself as I do fill up at some remote places at times. Was recently surprised when talking to a mate who wasn't aware of the following tip also about dirty diesel, timely reminder for some maybe: I try to avoid using 'high flow' pumps, and carry a CLEAN towel for the times I need to. Why? Because high flows are the preferred pump for truckies, and truckies often have fuel tanks in hard to reach places/both sides of the rig. So it isn't uncommon that they'll drag the nozzle back by pulling on the pump hose, dragging the nozzle straight across the servo concrete through all the dust/dirt and crap before hanging it back up...

I like Hi flow bowsers. My reasoning is the diesel in the storage tank turns over more often.

Guess it really depends on the servo also as to how often the tanks are flipped, but I also worry also about filling up straight after the tanks have been refilled as all the crap gets stirred up again.

Sometimes I'd guess they would be pumping from the same tank as well.

Hi all,

Does anyone know what the flow rate of the MN Triton pump is (2013 MN HP engine)?

This always surprises me when people say this.

Like the fuel tank in our utes, the pick ups are at the bottom of the tank so the first thing that gets sucked out is the crap.

Interesting observation at a servo recently, there was an inline filter between the pump and the filler hose.
I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed these and what their specs might be?

Has anyone mounted a secondary filter underneath on a ML dual cab with tub fitted.
I want to save the area next to the existing filter for my second battery and im unsure on were else to mount it. Comments and pictures appreciated

There was a bloke a while back who was going to fit one at the tank end. I can't remember now if he ever posted photos though.

The most suitable place i have found is to the rear of the petrol tank. I will.be fitting a Donaldson filter with glass a base and my only concern is that freak rock which could potentially break the base.

There's a bash plate you can buy for the fuel tank. I wonder if that might provide a bit of extra shielding for you?

The "visiglass" on the bottom of the Donaldsons is made of Polycarbonate not glass so not as easily damaged -but- probably still not a good idea to expose them to stray rocks.... ;)

I mounted mine left side, under the tray, and directly above the fuel tank pick-up outlet but then, that was easy for me to do because mine, is an MN Single Cab.... :D

I seen your post earlier and unfortunately I don't have the option to mount it there. Ill take a few pics tonight on the potential spot to mount the filter on the dual cab.

I'm new to the Triton world , but I spoke to Mitsubishi in regards to my warranty ! They clearly expressed that running a secondary filter would void my warranty . Now don't get me wrong fellas, I understand completely the necessity to utilising a secondary filter, but what do you do?
