brand new denso injectors to suit the ML triton (4m41 td) are $530 each at the moment on Ebay, from a few of the longer running sellers. so if you have your price from a mits dealership it would probably be close.

There was a company on Facebook advertising their page. Baileys diesel group. Might be worth a phone call.

i also saw on Ebay just the nozzles or what ever they are called for sale seperately to the actual injector body itself. i thought these injectors were a throw away item and not serviceable?

G'Day All,
Iam new to site and I have had my 08/2006 GLXR since new and i am only came across one problem so far the engine whilst coasting along doing 80km/hr them you just feather the accelerater slightly and it starts surging or like it is missing and when you put your foot down it goes away until you feather the accelerator again any ideas to what the problem is or has anyone else had this problem (could it be an injector on its way out) :?:

Cheers

take it the road and give a few herbs, rev it through the gears, don't have to flog it. They don't like putting around

That's not even relative to his surging problem driving it differently I don't think will correct the problem

my 06 glxr would splut and carry on at 80-90 ks like its running out of fuel, put your foot down and it would go alright. Rev it through the gears for a while and give it a run out the rd and it would be good

My guess is the suction control valve. (Scv)
Before you start replacing everything.......change your fuel filter to be sure it's not something to do with that. They are cheap compared to everything else.

I'm assuming its a diesel.

G'Day all,
Its a diesel also. Just an update on my surging problem started removing parts to all access EGR manifold and found excessive carbon build up approx 30% blockage currently cleaning components and waiting for new gasket kit to arrive and blanking plate then shall see if problem is retified I shall keep you updated and thank you for your help. I taken photos so I will see if I can upload them if not I will put them in my shed so others can veiw the carbon build up. Their is currently 134000 kms on the clock.

Regards

My 2011 diesel automatic just started doing this a couple of days ago. In drive gear around 80km/h and you coast or just feather the accelerator to maintain 80 and the cars starts surging and acting like it's out of fuel. its doing around 1600rpm in overdrive. Turn off overdrive and the revs go up and it goes away or is no where near as bad. Once you apply a little more accelerator so your not coasting or close to it, it runs fine. I'm just about to hit 85k, but I've only had the car since about 79k so not sure if/when carbon build up has been cleaned or anything else. I might try the 'give the beans' method, not redlining it, but blow the cob webs out and do a run out on the highway. All my driving is stop/start through town to/from work.

x2 with 'hvac's suggestion.
A quick and easy way for you to try to prove it, is to just add a 300ml dose of Castrol Activ 2T (FC Rated) 2-stroke oil into your fuel tank, as you next do a comple refill of it. The 2T adds extra lube to our 'dry' Aussie diesel and will help to free-up a 'sticking' SCV valve.... ;)
Try that and see if it fixes your 80Km/Hr light throttle surging symptoms. If yes, then you can either just keep on using the 2T at each refill, which also has other 'health benefits' for your engine as well, or, you can try the SCV 'Polishing' fix instead, as detailed by 'Greytriton' in his "Repairing the SCV Suction control valve" thread located in this 'Fuel Systems' section.... ;)

So the update to my surging problem. For the past few days I have been putting the foot into it to make it downshift to second at around 80km/h and put the engine under load. Did this about 6-8 times and the surging has pretty much gone. I cannot make it surge any more. Also when I was doing this, huge amounts of black smoke was coming out which has now stopped. No more smoke. I read some post on this because I do 99% stop/start driving around town. Very rarely over 80km/h of sustained cruising. Mitsubishi yesterday could not fault it and I agree. Whatever was wrong with it, the few burst of load seemed to fix it for now.
Interestingly, the service man said they do at 30k, 60k, 90k etc. services a full clean out of the EGR, manifold system etc. Not sure if this part of the regular service, but that's what they said they do. Either way, it feels a little more responsive when crusing, however the turbo lag is still there. One thing on that though, I have never driven another Triton so I don't know if the lag is normal or not. My dad has a 2010 Triton with 70k on the clock so I might try that to compare, Although his could be the same as mine given the kays.
So if anyone else has the same problem, might worth a try to "blow the cob webs out of it" if you have not tried it. It seemed to do the trick for me.
