Engine check light + snorkel

You might have bumped something somewhere. If it's serious the engine will limp on you. If it's not it may disappear on its own (I've had that).

Ideally find someone with a scanguage or other obd code reader and see if the code gives any clues as to the source of the problem.

Is it only the cel that comes on? When mine gets really upset the light for asc and the one next to it go on as well.

Check all the plugs around the area u were working, there is a plug for the air flow sensor in the top of the air box.

Was the air flow sensor unplugged?

This happened to me today, normally I would have just cleared the code but the unit gave me the sh*ts so I disposed of it.

Anyway is there a way to reset without a scan tool?

TBH.....I don't know. but have you tried disconnecting the battery for a while......this often resets computer things in modern cars.
