3inch Single Cab Exhaust ML 3.2

Postby irwazza on Mon Oct 17, 2011 7:53 am

Hey guys.

Been looking around for a 3 inch exhaust for my ute but I am struggling to find any bolt on exhausts. There are plenty for the dual cabs but none for the singles. Does anyone know of a company that makes them for single cabs?

Regards
Brenton

There was some 3" systems on eBay for the space and single cabs mate! Few weeks ago now tho! , I made my uncles 3" mandrel bent turbo back exhaust for him on his mn, pretty easy to do and ends up fair cheaper than buying one !

Beaudesert Exhaust advertise a bolt on system that they will shipped to anywhere in Australia

Their advert caught my eye in the latest edition of Caravan and Motorhome on tour (sister publication to 4WD Action)

Their web site is www.beauexhausts.com.au

I fitted one to my GLXR a few weeks ago and it isn't much louder can't hear it unless the window is down so it very good sound not to bug. With a Uni-Filter and the exhaust there is definetly a fair bit more power and with a chip I can't wait to see how she will go. +1 Scotts Rods

It sounds good, not too loud and easy to put on. The dump pipe is the hardest with one nut against the block.

Ok this is interesting, i spoke to our local exhaust guys up here and thay recon the 2.5 MN doesnt really need a 3" system a 2/three quater" will work just as good, cuz of the smaller engine size.?? (dont ask me im no exhaust expert)
Allso Beaudesert Exhaust recomend the same thing, (no need to go 3') ;) allso with the same explanation :geek: like trowing fault codes, spiking, smaller/bigger baffles restricting exhaust flow, blah!! blah!! blah!!! .....i dont know, you got me :?: im sure thay know more about it than me. +Some companys deal with bigger systems, while others deal with smaller ones ?....i dunno all way above my head :?
Anybody else come across this ?
+ its one size fits all....MN D/C and single/cabs.
So in the end i went with "Beaudesert"... new performance exhaust will be here next week  This will be somewhat....interesting.

3inch Single Cab Exhaust ML 3.2

Postby TUFF TROOP on Tue Nov 29, 2011 8:19 pm

I made up a 3" exhaust for jock71 triton. All stainless 3" mandrel bent , performance gain was massive and sound was unreal! I'm currently making a 3" exhaust for my ml dual cab and making a 3" dump pipe to suit also. will be interesting to see how it goes compared to my stock exhaust with no mufflers.

There is a big difference in the exhaust from stock to modified. Gain was 16kw atw on the mn on the dyno. With no other mods done.. Only exhaust

I'll double check the figures with him but pretty sure that's what we ended up with! No mufflers straight through. Isn't overly loud . Sounds unreal . I'll be making mine In the next few weeks and doing a before and after dyno also!

I was just told by one of the exhaust companies that all the dual/single cab exhausts are the same but the 2WD is different even though it shares the same chassis.

I was told their might be a difference in flang size between the ML and MN on the back of the turbo
cuz the MN uses a VVT ??

Yeah the ML and MN have different dump pipes. One each model though the single and dual cabs are the same except in 2WDs.
