15,000 Service

Postby martyboy on Fri Aug 08, 2008 3:36 am

Hi Guys,
I know this has probably been done to death but how much are you paying for the 15k service?
I had 2 quotes today from dealers....Knox quoated $360 and Frankston $320.

I also asked about the 30k service and Knox were $500 and Frankston were $420.
I am going to look at an authirised mechanic now who has serviced my cars for a few years. and see what they quote.

15,000 Service

Postby subi_man on Fri Aug 08, 2008 4:51 am

Bit of info in this thread martyboy...

From memory, the manual states that the valve clearances are checked which makes it a pricey service. They didn't do that for my 15K service though

Hope that helps
Andrew

Three quotes from dealers, $35-39 if I buy 6 but $39-43 for single. $65 sounds rich Subi. :-)

I was qouted $300 dollars for my 15,000 servie by the stealers in seymour today, so I went to my local shop and was qouted $150 and thats with the books stamped which I thought it was outstanding, And we went through the check list. I have read that the only thing it will effect is the road side assist is that true. what should I do go with the stealers or should I just go with my trusted grease monkey.

gfm_69, you can get the services at a qualified mechanic and retain warranty. To keep roadside assist, you must have 1 of the 15,000km services done at a dealer annually.

I just had mine serviced today at the stealer.

$446.95 WTF

Included:

$110.00 for Magnatec SP 5W40 Oil
$45.48 for filter
$198.00 for labour

I feel violated.......

They blame the high labour cost here in Townsville on the mines taking all the good mechanics!

So all the good mechanics have gone but these still charge like wounded bulls for the shithouse apprentices they now employ. No wonder you feel violated. :D

The local dealer in Mandurah wants something in the order of $380-$400 for my 15,000km service - ouch, very ouch. I didn't pay that much for the MAJOR service of my Exy.

I rang up UltraTune and they quoted $260 so have booked in with them. I've got roadside assist with the lease company so am not too fussed on voiding that. Still have to go to Mitsu to get the squeaky suspension looked at though :(

I think I'm gonna brush the roadside assist - it amounts to an extra $150+ on every service... :?

I'm just on 15K now so I'm gonna ring the local grease monkey and see what they've got to offer...

$239 from Zupps Capalabah, but they wouldn't change out my air filter "as the car only had 15,000kms"
Yeh sure they checked..... Then they went on with "but its a lease vehicle and you cannot claim it"
Its my car, they will back charge me for any repairs etc.
I put in the old filter in (one that I do all my dirt driving with) prob 3000kms worth.

pretty sure I woun't be going back regardless of the price.

Why must it be an original filter?
