Surely a Mitsubishi specialist would not say just add water. The level should not move unless there is a problem.

Actually they would recommend that, if for instance your coolant was low and you had to top it up and had no access to genuine coolant, they would tell you to use water because if you used some other coolant and mixed it with the genuine stuff already in the system all hell could break loose inside your engine.
I was an apprentice at a large Mitsubishi dealer and every Monday I would have to mix and add additives to the RECYCLED coolant, yes when it was drained out of one car, filtered into a 205 and then had glycol added to it to the correct concentration and then put into another car.
I know dealers use the premixed coolant now but it's essentially the same as concentrate diluted with water to the correct concentration, adding 500ml of water isn't going to dilute it enough to be a concern

Hope its distilled water and not that tap water with all that toxic stuff like fluoride in it.

Don't think your local Mitsui Stealer's Service dept would be using 'Distilled' water. True 'Distilled' water is  frighteningly  expensive.... ;) I think that the best you could hope for, would be it's much cheaper 'De-Mineralized' cousin.... :D

Premix is the best bet - then its all in the manufacture's court.

From checking out Nylon for instance, worked out the same price premixed or concentrate + demon. water.

I wonder what effects that recycled water has? It could be ionized coming from on engine's metallurgy that could be incompatible with that of another.

Any industrial chemists here?

Your right! It would have to effect the molecular structure to some degree and the side effects I can't imagine will be of any benefit to the overall construction of the engine block, not to mention the water pump.

Re: 15,000 Service GLX Club Cab M/T Brake Problem

Postby chode007 on Sun Jul 10, 2016 9:32 am

Hi Guys,

Just found that the hill start assist let's go after a sec with out using the Hand Break. Didn't do it before It had it's 15,000 km Service.
Might be something in the SQL that Now let's Us manual Drivers not burn out clutches in Under 5000 km's again. Which is good because EXEDY don't make a Heavy Duty Clutch to fit the 2015 GLX M/T Club Cab... I checked.
I was going to put one in at the Service, all because they had to take out the boxes, The good old 2nd 3rd gear SYNCRO problem is back!!! And the low range box has issues too, won't disengage from 4L to 4H/2H, grinds in to 3rd from 4th and 2nd. Does waist a lot of time having to stop start, go back and forth, turn that stupid little wheel around, which who know what it does. Was so much better in the Old truck don't know why they changed it.
Any way, Might be good for overriding the Traction control off road.
I'm taking it back to where it got done last week, I rang the assistants line to let them know this morning, but got the run around.
So when I have time I'll go back, Because they still haven't refunded the over charges on the Service Invoice which I had to do for them while I was busy Finally getting My ABN.
Any way, Got a few Invoices to do. But they can wait till tomorrow.
Have to go pick Mum up from Church, and hate to keep the Old Lady waiting.

Just an update Guys.
I will be going down to where I got my Truck Serviced last week to have a chat about the Break problem.
Also going to have to get some New keys made up, as my Truck had it's drivers door left open.
went for a drive to the news agents this morning looking at Invoicing books.
I came back and found it open seat belt in the door.
I normally press the button a few times, to check it is locked, Can't afford to have it stolen or broken into being a Tradie.
Not sure if the key's have been copied, Some one has the same FOB code, or it was just a lucky thief.
Can't be too carefully these days, with all the Toyota's getting stolen and ending up in the middle east, with the stupid Terrorists driving them!!!. Not a good look having Triton's blown up on the News.
Also left a voice mail for my mate who I go 4WDing with, (4.8 its never late :) ) as he just got a new Mazda SP20 or 323 so he can check if he has the same problem with his keys.
Could be a good Monday.
