Aggressive tread pattern!!! tell em that's what they will have on their body if they don't fix your issues ha ha...REALY sounds like they haven't changed,,, from assuming that most who walk in are stupid.. Sounds like carbon build up... my butterfly valves caused lurching by closing too late and being erratic in closure..

Thread Revival.

My ML diesel is a bit overdue for its 90k service and I called the closest Mitsubishi dealer (in another town now that my local dealer closed its Mitsubishi franchise) to get an idea of the price.

Luckily I was sitting down.

$1800.00 ..........and they need it overnight so its cold for the valve clearances to be done.

This seems a little excessive to me. Has anyone got any prices / had their ML done recently so I can compare?

:o That's scary.

You'd be well out of warranty now. Maybe time to find a trustworthy local mechanic for maybe a third of that price?

Dealer prices seem to be about half of that for a major service like this one.

Good idea Chris..... I had the 75k service done by a local mechanic and I guess I will be asking them for an idea of their costs.

I couldn't believe it when the dealership dropped that bombshell price!

I agree with Chris subject to this - an SQL using the mut3 is worth seeing the dealer about every now and then. Shouldn't cost much to just have them do that.

Well the 90k service has been done at a local independent shop. I had a few extras done (the manifolds cleaned and rear leaf bushes changed) and the total was ~$1100. Which is not bad for all that was done. Some bad news is that both inner cv boots are torn and apparently it is not a simple job for the passenger side one to come out..... I have to let the bank balance recover before getting these done so the Tri is parked up in the shed for a month and I'm back to daily driving the MPS to work (not a bad thing!). Has anyone had both inner cv boots fail? Looks like the suspension lift has a few downsides.

had my 90k service done today.
as I have only done just under 75k it was done on time (72mth)

car got a wash & vacuum as well.

Timing was very good as I received an email last week from the dealer offering 10% off service price till the end of June.
I supplied the engine oil & filter. total bill was $922 including a loan car (cost $22)

engine was much quieter when I left & seemed to go quite well.

Just been quoted $1053 for 90k on ML petrol, $1773 if I want timing belt done at same time otherwise "extra" service interval at 100 to do belt for $773. Priced around and dealers price was the cheapest oddly.

Some of them dealer prices are frightening being as they dont do some of the work, thank god i can do most of my own servicing, 175000 and still going like a train and 10L/100 daily use Auto LS MY 10 Challenger

I paid 947 including tapet adjustment and replacement seal kit..although apparently after all that the tapets did not need adjustment. Also included SQL. Included all materials and oil though not necessarliy genuine.

So after parting with a pile of cash for the 90k because the injectors needed cleaning and the boss needs new teeth for his kids and his wife wahts bigger boobs etc etc they tried the "your belts are squeaky" I walked away. But bugger me now they are noisy, 2 questions how hard and what do you reckon the belts are worth?

Cheers
Dave

3.2's do tend to be a bit noisy ( mine is anyway) I grabbed some before my last trip for spares. not too expensive, I will have a look & get back

They are just std V belts.

Even though im years too late i had to add my rediculous $1683 90k service where only the usual was done! I think i take the cake as the most expensive price paid! Fyi it was a stealer in the ACT but im sure i was told it was that expensive because of timing belts.... Im now thinking ill still be up for them at the 105...... Would have def chosen a different triton (purchased at 87k) as it really has upped the price i paid for the car when you add another $2500 worth of usual servicing within 15000km of purchase

Just had my 90k service done (actually 96k  ) had the usual service, an engine oil flush and had the brake pads replaced and the front disc's machined, also got them to set the handbrake as it was engaging really high up. All up $707, that seem reasonable to you guys?
