Hi, I last changed the oil at 5000k , car is at 10000 k , does any one think I should change the oil before driving to Sydney from frankston next week , or should I wait for the 15000 service

Mate entirely up to you. If you used decent oil last time it should be fine. Many seem to do intermediate changes at 7,500 based on a recent thread on the subject. Mostly I think it depends on how hard you use your truck. If you were towing heavy every single day then drop the oil regularly. If you just putter around here and there then maybe longer, although I've seen it suggested that if you do a lot of short city runs regular changes are also advisable (but I don't expect you're doing a lot of short city runs in Oberon).

Yeh I have been living down frankston way for the past few months but moving to Sydney next week , wouldnt mind organising some trips in Jenolan state forest, I miss living in that area

Jenolan state is a back yard for black heath then it must be a garden to oberon , I know the area pretty good , i am a guide at Jenolan caves , there has been many treks home were I have mucked about in the forestry , but I will be sure to get on to him and who ever else is keen , I will post a few dates next week when my schedule gets worked out
