Price For 30K Service

Discussion on servicing, engine oils, gearbox oils, diff oils etc

Apart from the valve adjustment and engine oil what else is required for the 30k service? Mine is soon due and I really don't want my dealer doing the work. :? Can any one recommend a good mechanic in the Sydney area that will do the required work and keep Mitsu happy. I don't want the ecu updated/reflash! :x Or is this required when valves are done?

Geek and I have have good results out of these guys: http://www.centurymotors.net.au/

Don't expect them to be any cheaper than a dealer though, you end up paying for quality here I'm afraid.

Sydney City Mitsi did my 30k service and they weren't too bad with me providing the parts and fluids.

Apart from the engine oil, Filter, and valve clearances it also gets a Fuel Filter, If it is an MN it also gets Brake Fluid. Then it gets a Small Quantity Learn (At Dealer Only). The rest of it is just Checks over the vehicle.

Hi I had the problem with my MN and the surging and excessive blue smoke when cold at 900-1000 RPM and Midland Mitsi put new software in. This has reduced that savage excellaration from when you put your boot into it and made it smoother and the fuel consumption is even better than it already was and there is no surge anymore especially when just rolling along in first gear.

Going in for my 30K service tomorrow... :?
Kinda scared as I have seen prices from $300 to $1000 on here!

Im going to a Mitsi dealer here in Bris.
I think I will get a quote before I leave it it with them as if its over $700 I might have to garage the truck for a few weeks to pay for this.

Got the car back and I am stoked with the service from a particular Brisbane Mitsi dealership!!

Its just a good feeling to talk to people (service manager ;) )who actually drive the same vehicle as you, and you can genuinely trust their advice.

Right after the service I had to go from Brisbane up to the Sunshine coast and Im not sure if its all mental but the car does seem to rev smoother and is now a lot quieter at idle.

hopefully the 45K service does not come around too fast so I can save for the new snorkel and more goodies :D

Single reason I bought the Triton at Eagers was because of their Service Centre and the rep of Lee-thal. So far that was a very good decision. I know I could have bought elsewhere and taken it to Eagers but I figure - keep it in the family so to speak, and I spoke with lee before I purchased and got some advice etc. Like I said - very happy so far.

Just had my 30k service done under the capped price for $590. I would agree with others here in that the car feels better, runs smoother and is quieter. I believe there was also a software upgrade for the computer something to to with the boost. I had the work done at Eagers Newstead and have to say, having owned Tritons for quite a number of years that of the many dealers I have had experience with these guys just got in and did the work and actually took the time to make sure everything was right and will definitely be going back to them even though it is on the other side of town for me. But I'm happy to drive past as many slack dealers as there is to get one who does the job right.

Thanks

Mine was an ex demo and apparently even though I'm the first registered owner of the vehicle that all my warranty and every thing is intact BUT I don't have capped price servicing ...not happy jan .... and got quoted $1080 for the 30 k service...wtf?? Oil/fueil filter and oil ,and new brake fluid and a check over the vehicle ???? I cannot comprehend at all.....so I can try find some one cheaper as long as they use Mitsubishi bits yeah?? Wish I could do it all myself and jst get someone to stamp it for me....grrr

^^^ Not another grrr  , we got rid of the last one ffs

Brodie, the 30k also involves the tappets and from memory that alone is around the $600 mark with parts and labour

I seriously can't understand why so many whinge about the costs of up keep of our vehicles  , if you don't like the price go see Jim Bob down in the back alley and get a cheapie service done and hope for the best  but if you wish to retain any form of warranty get the job done and just be happy about it

Its 'OK' to discuss fuel economy figures on the forums, but its 'not OK' to discuss issues regarding conflicting fixed price vs non-fixed price servicing promises by Mitsubishi dealers....

I would be addressing this with your dealer. Does the 15K receipt mention 'fixed price servicing' or similar? If so, that would help push your point.

Yeah I am lee and they are now holding firm that any / all demo /ex demo vehicles do not have capped price servicing full stop ...and there's nothing I can do according to them ....I said we'll if that's the case then I would not have purchased the vehicle so you have/ you dealership has lied to to make a sale.....he says its not the case,...ahh well

Is this the same dealer that gave you the capped price on the 15,000 service?

Certainly is dave....I was working on that particular day 15 k and my old man took the ute in for me....when it came time to pay for it they tried to charge him full price and as he was with me when I bought it he said no its got capped servicing...to which they agreed and he paid it at the capped price...now the 30 k is approaching and I have since moved interstate for a while qld - vic I'm jst looking into the 30 k service and what not ..currently 22500... And been in contact with a few dealers including numerous emails / phone conversations with the dealer I purchased from and they now don't want to budge on it....maybe because this service is a bit more exxy?? Dunno but they don't want a bar of it ...
