I was quoted 3 days to get the suction control valve from Sydney. They were going to ring me when it came in to organise a time to replace it. Two weeks later, I have to give them a ring. You guessed it. "Arrived today". I find it amazing that my ESP is so in tune with their parts deliveries.  Anyway, part was fitted and they re-flashed the ECU as well with the "latest" software. Mileage has improved slightly since the service. It's now down to 10.1lts/100. I think that's reasonable for my setup and considering it's mostly town use. Injector noise hasn't improved at all. Still quite pronounced at 100km/h.

Need to get my 30k done in a few weeks. Called the dealer - $845. Called my usual mechanic - $645.

Anyone have any better prices for around the western Sydney area (i.e. Penrith)?

Just called Ultra Tune - they'll do it for $290 so I've booked them in.

Anyone had any problems with them?

I got a quote for the 30k service at 5pm tuesday -$660, thought it was a bit rough but booked the car in for today.

Rocked up at 8:30 (day off ;)) and was told i should have had the car there on tuesday, they can't do it today.

This was after the same thing happening last time i booked it in and repeatedly trying to get the cash they owe me for charging me for parts in a warranty fix.

After some prompting - i blew up deluxe at the dealer principal with the usual - bought two tritons here, always serviced here........ yada yada

Anyway ended up with service done there and then, with a triton 4x4 single cab for the day, full detail and paid $489

:D :D :D

Got quoted $420 for the 30k service to my 3.2.
Dropped it off, ready to go 5hrs later, all good.
Went to pay for it and the dealer told me $780. :o
So I said you better go get the service manager cause I am not paying it. Service manager comes out and I point to the guy that gave me the quote and said "take it up with him.I just dont have $780 to spend on a service."
He said "well that was valve clearances too" I said" I dont care, you quoted me $420 and that is what I am paying. You never rang me to tell me you were going to double the price. So I suggest you go figure it out." Meanwhile about 3 other customers and standing ,listening.
Eventually the service manager comes back and says "the best we can do is $490."
So I looked at the invoice, and noted $190 for oil. Is that right or what?
Anyways I paid up and have not been back there.

And washed the windscreen. That extra $4.31 is critical to a profit margin.

Took the car to profix for the 30k service this morning and read the service manual.
Mitsi want to charge $670 for the service and all that they do is replace the oil, filter, fuel fiter, and check valve clearances amongst other parts.
So going on there $670 for what they say is 4 hours work. take out a few dollars for bits and pieces say $70.
They charge an hourly rate of $150.p/h. :o Wish I could make that kind of money.

nice one greedy. I didn't bother shopping around between the dealers as I reckon the one who sold you the car should look after you. plus profix is closer and cheaper. 8-)
