All but finished the wiring now. About 50 wires to run all over the place. I now have fully installed (and working properly
) the following:
Car PC: GPS, tunes and Windows XP. Will look at digital radio at some stage when I can be bothered.
Spotlights: Fyrlyts. They go good.
UHF
Rear/Reverse lights: A 20 watt LED triggered by reverse lights and also a manual switch in the cab.
Air Compressor: Mounted on the passenger wheel arch
Fridge wiring
Canopy Interior LED strip: Automatic when windows are lifted. Can be turned off if not required.
DVD headrests: Wiring is done but haven't put them in yet. One of the legs was bent when Tars crashed the last car they were in.
Jump Start function
Camper trailer charging circuit
Towbar wiring loom.
I then tackled a set of drawers for the tub. These had to house a 70 ltr fridge, the air compressor, 3 tubs we store food in and have storage space for toolbag and recovery gear. Made them from 12mm ply then covered the visible bits with carpet. Came up ok in my book.
The fridge slide has 100kg runners and is 900mm long. It extends this far as well. The tray the fridge sits on is homemade from 20mm square steel with a sheet of 12mm ply on top.
I then took the GLX-R towbar and step off and replaced with a GLX towbar. Better clearance. Tars thinks it looks ugly but IMO it weren't no oil painting to start with.
She's now considering an ARB rear bar.
Gnomey then sourced me a canopy rack to suit the internal frame of the ARB canopy. Got it at a great price and even sold him the existing roof bars for a carton.
Total canopy cost came to $1300. Very Happy.
Ultimate supplied a suspension kit which I installed earlier this week over 2 days. Pretty much eradicated all the bump steering from the previous TJM gas crap that was previously installed. Lifted it nicely too. The TJM stuff had sagged badly. Ride heights:
DF 515 to 565mm
PF 515 to 575mm
DR 555 to 615mm
PR 545 to 615mm.
Refitted the awning from the previous car to the new canopy rack. Just testing the new solar panel/battery setup for the new fridge.
