Jop's Tri trailer

I thought i would put all the photo's in one place rather than scatter them all over the forum in other threads.

Warnzies original photo's before i bought it.

Cut the 'sideburns' off, looking back now, probably a bit high.

Bought the kitchen set up and fitted led spotlight to the hard lid

Wired the batteries and 'powerboard', voltage monitor and light switch

I have fitted a rear wind down stabiliser leg as these trailers are very rear heavy, also fitted a larger toolbox to the front.
I plumbed up some water tanks to a tap you can see hanging out of the tailgate, but will tidy that up with quick release fittings.
Some pics from the weekend at fernvale.

Still to do:
Fit the 32's from the pajero
Mount spare underneath on wind down bracket - fits above rear axle so no track grading from tyre
Jerrycan holders for the sides of the toolbox
Fit the motorbike rack to the front - already made - will probably be interchangable with another small toolbox
Fit the kitchen to a slide so it slides back into the tub further to make packing easier.

Maybe roof top tent - Don't tell the wife as the blackwolf isn't that old yet ;)

Then probably sell it and buy a pop top

That's a handy set up mate. Looks like a nice quiet spot too.

nice work jop hope you and your family get some fun out of it and like homer says looks nice spot to camp, im thinking about taking my 240 plus tent to a local canvas maker , and getting him to make a canvas fly (awning ) to join onto the front for bit more shade and to sit and cook under.
happy camping tookie wa 8-)

If I was a mod, I'd lock this thread until those bloody toyota rims were replaced by something a little more fitting... ;)

Dont know if you knew or not, but for everybody else out there who are looking to use circuit breakers for 12v systems. You have to make sure that they are rated to break 12v dc currents. The Merlin Gerin ones you have are fine, but a lot of the cheaper brands are not. They will not work on 12V DC.

Yeah good point Ag - i did check that on our bench test unit at work - they trip close enough to the rating.
I'm using 6 x 18A/H batteries in parallel for the supply, mounted in a separate toolbox.

Fitted the 265/75/16's today, bit close on the inside - some trimming with the angle grinder will sort that.

That's a better look mate.

Better tyres than my Triton too.

Thanks for the comments fellas.

Picked up the wheel winch from fleabay, now to mount it under the tray and above axle.

Came without winder and fitting to hold wheel  Will make them up at work

Sorry Rick i missed your question, i cut the sideburns off as i wasn't a fan of that look, but looking back - i should have left them and tidied them up last.

Latest mods - water tank and pump

Just a shame the fridge doesn't fit under the lid, would be a complete lock up unit then. I back the paj up to it and keep the fridge in the back of the paj so no big deal
As it sits now, ended up not using the under slung wheel holder - moved the jockey wheel forward and fitted spare to draw bar for more weight forward and easier accessClick to view larger picture

What brand water tank is that and were did you get it from. What sort of dollars. Looking for something very similar. How is it fixed down?

Ag9111, i picked it up from Opposite Lock for about $200.

Most brands of poly tank come in this shape, check out dolium - http://www.dolium.com.au/view/page/120/cat/Tanks.html

Haven't fixed it down yet, sitting on a rubber pad - will probably just strap across the tiedown points

Hi Jop, I was only looking at your photos of your tri-trailer last night.
I was lucky enough to be able to get a tub the other day (MN) and i'm in the process of working out which which way to make it

Just wondering if there was anything that you would have done different to your now that you have had it on a few trips.

Cheers Johno

Johno,

I would definately make it with a longer drawbar - and i still may get this one modified.

The main problem is the lack of weight over the front of the trailer, the mn's arse will make this worse.

Plan to put all your weight on the draw bar - batteries, water, spare wheel

My next mod will be jerry can holders on the sides of the front tool box.

Good luck mate!

The draw bar was one of my concerns :?
I had already decided to put the spare, and some water up front along with a lockable tool box.
Cheers Johno
