Yeah Mitsubishi does a tow hook that bolts onto the rear chassis rail. Bloody solid too.

I would never try and snatch in reverse. Maybe a gentle/slow pull but a snatch? No thanks.

And yes I'm sure that sounds dirty but what can you do?

The glx came with a factory rear hook, could ask Mitsubishi?
There would have to be some sitting around dealer workshops when they fit factory towbars?

Do you mean like on this site?

I found someone who custom builds recovery points for the new model Mitsubishi Triton. Knowing that the PB Challenger is almost exactly the same as the the Triton, I contacted the person who supplies them and asked if he’d be happy to take a look at the Challenger to see if they’d fit.
from here

A forum sponsor in WA sells them another current thread has a post of another WA seller as well.

Was there drilling involved?

Sounds like they're identical to the yellow ones earlier in this thread. Pretty sure there was some detail on what that install involved.

Yes, the same as the yellow ones, you use 1 existing hole and drill 2 holes per side. but it was easy. Cheers Ian

I thought the original poster who put the yellow photos up said the install was a bit fiddly/difficult with regard to the drilling? I can't recall the precise details. Something to do with the length of the drill from memory but that recollection is faint. I'll go back and look later and see if I can find what I am talking about.

That was how I remember reading it too. You also need to weld a nut to a piece of wire to instal it (place inside chassis rail).

G'day I was the one who posted those recover hooks and installed them on my Triton.
As I am a fitter/machinist it was pretty easy, the nuts a welded to flat bar to stop them turning and they also have wire on them so u can poke them down the chassis.
If you have a auto you need a long drill bit to get past their cooler

If you have an auto the transcooler it's in the way, you just have to move it to 1 side.

As a few people have said the kit comes with the nuts already welded to a piece of flat bar and a wire. I have a manual so I didn't have the Transcooler to contend with. While I was down there I got to see why most people upgrade there sump guard.

Is that a good price? Ive got no idea the pricing on the front ones. IM getting back ones made up as i no longer have a rear bar and think their costing me around the $50 for both but that's custom made from 10mm plate

It's a lot more expensive then say D40 or GU recovery points but there is a heap of people doing these but the options that triton owners have is very limited so you would expect to pay a bit more maybe.

Ahk understood hopefully with the tritons popularity growing more options will be available and make for some more competitive prices :P is this the only place that is making recovery points for the triton?
