Show us your Switches

Postby big_bob_thefirst on Wed Jul 11, 2012 10:21 am

Hi all,

I'm just looking around at all the electrical accessories (lights, compressors, diff locks etc) and was thinking we start a thread with pictures of how and where we are managing all of the switches for them.

I hate a cluttered interior and like to plan things out long term, so before I haphazardly start adding things, it would b good to see some finished products.

Mine are the same kind of switches and if you wire them correctly then yes they light up with the dash lights. Here's another of the same kind I installed near the handbrake:

There's an eBay seller in Victoria that does the carling style switches like custom rockers. That's where I got my red ones from. I find the custom rockers site often shows them being out of stock. The eBay place also has the switch plates and switch blanks to go with them.

cut out the wasted space under the ashtray and inserted a 6 bay switch blank.

Have filled a couple, and have ideas about what to fill the rest up with.

real slack at the time and fitted any switch combination- will probably tidy the whole area up one day.

fitted tight against the factory plastic can make it hard to see the lights, when switched- but it's not that much of a problem.

I have the automatic torque convertor lockout switch down there and its not that bad a location to reach

That's one thing to keep in mind with the Carling/ARB/rocker style switches - the lights are actually quite bright so it's worth keeping them away from your normal line of sight so they don't distract overly at night.

My old driving light switch cover used to just be hire background. Got a blue one from custom rockers and found it to be a lot more dul at night which is a lot better as the old white one used to really annoy me at night!

Only two ever fitted afaik. Garth and I. They were a prototype made by forum sponsors newprotech but the little icon thingy was upside down. I think they gave up on them in the end. So, a limited edition...
