I got the TJM rear bar for $720, fitted it myself. Already had the wiring loom from the factory tow bar.
It is an easy self fit, just really heavy. I used my garage jack to lift it into place and then bolted it in.

Lads this bar is simply supreme!!! I love it and I've been asked if its a stock item by a few triton drivers around Melbourne!! Ha ha maybe Mitsubishi should role it out!!

Ohh and it cost $890 for the bar and $300 for paint plus fitting..

Thanks for the replies.. colour coded certainly looks the goods!.. do all bolts come with the tjm or do we get hi tensile from a fasteners joint?. A tow bar is something associated with a lot of diy horror stories.. so I dont mind paying to get installed for having somebody to blame. Anywhere in sydney that does mcc? If anybody knows.. all I can find is thailand!

TJM bar comes with everything you need and easy as to fit , why pay an extra couple of hung

Sold then.. either way all the installer is going to do is splice and solder. Which I am more than qualified to do. Use the savings towards a uhf. I take it the price on the bar is the same at every tjm dealer?

And price is significantly more than when they 1st came out a couple of years ago

Sometimes you have to way up what you need/what works/what looks good!! At the end of the day The rear protection does little for our spare tyre that dangles ready for a big hit!!

I chose the jack bar as I personally think that it offers the best side protection!! And looks good too ;p lol

Mate, everybody has different preferences. I personally like the look of the TJM more than the MCC and think its actually more usable as it sits higher without the grader below the towbar neck. Comparing side protection is funny as when side by side the both offer similar protection width ways, however both protect slightly different parts of the tub.

Dunno how your spare dangles, but the TJM under tub protection is lower than the spare on mine and you would need to drive over a boulder to get that high, which wouldn't clear the diff anyway.

Like I said - personal preference.

Yeah true that mate!! My spare doesn't dangle but I've always been a fan of not having it under the tub as it can hang you up at times.. Not a major drama but can happen...
