I thought it was about time to do a build thread, been a member on here for about a year and a half. The triton has come a long way in that time so enjoy.

This is the day after i picked her up, just had the tint done. Sold the ss ute because there was a little one on the way and needed something more practical. Went for a second hand glr with 56000ks beacuse i didnt want a loan so purchased this outright




First time offroad


First few things i did was buy a rear bar off gum tree so the ute didnt look so long and flat and also purchased a snorkel off ebay. lost the photos of the install but went well with some help off here as to relocating the washer bottle.

Next thing i did was order some rims and tryes from the US. What a nightmare but after finally ariving I was very happy with the products. I purchased xd addicts in matte black with a +18 offset wrapped in nitto trail grappler mts. size is LT 295/70/17


Had a lift on order from Ultimate while i was waiting for the tyres to arrive.

got them from sd wheel corp in the US, you should get 33s evlids. The clearance and offroad performance is heaps better

Then came for some more power, so after a lot of researching i decided on tune box chip, pretty much the same as steinbeur.

it was time for a front bar so i decided on the xrox bar as its made locally here in perth and was an awesome price for supply and install.




I purchased a runva winch to from wolf 4x4. 11000xp with dyneema rope. Install was hard on my own but got there in the end

I didnt like the washer bottle that was supplied with the xrox bar so i bought one off ebay and installed a circuit breaker as well to protect and isolate the winch feed

Did a UHF install, bought a uniden 7760 with all the controls on the hand piece so i could tuck the main unit up behind the dash.



stock bash plate was flogged out so that had to go



new bash plate (xrox one) installed some cheap hid spotties but one fell off after 3 days so thats why im only running one spottie in most of these photos

Having the open tray was annoying me a bit especially when going on fishing trips so I decided to get a canopy. while that was getting made i had to do something with the ute liner because i had an over the rail one that wouldn't fit with the canopy. After I took it off there was a lot of rust in the tray from where sand and dust had been sitting for a while. That made me keen on a spray on liner, so after some research i purchased one called herculiner and did it myself as a rhino liner was way to expensive

photo once completed, hard to see in the photo but was very pleased with how well it turned out. Very tough layer and no more rust.

A while back I did the egr blank and converted the tailshaft to a one piece after the lift went in.

im liking that herculiner, was it easy to apply? Had a bit of a read up online says you can roll it on, is that how you did it? im keen on this one as its a lot cheaper than rhino liner and i can give it a crack! Sick of the mitsi liner that takes up space!

Canopy arrived, I chose a sports range one beacuse it is perfectly colour coded, has a rear brake light, doesn't stick up to high above the roof but the main feature i love is the central locking off the main key.

The hardest part was prepping the tray, sanding all the rust back and trying to take the gloss out of the paint, once that was done painting was easy, just dab on with a brush in the tight spots and roll on the rest. I was happy with 2 coats and still had enough for 3. Cost me i think 190 from ebay and was express posted and took about 6 hours total. I would use this again straight away in another tray over the plastic liner.

Thanks, thats an awesome price! its $265 plus $15-$60 delivery on their site. Ill be doing this soon for sure now, just couldnt justify the $1200+ by rhino to do my tub. Rolling will work easier for me too seeing as i have the canopy on.

Carpeted the base and built a side compartment for the second battery and compressor



Using the original battery for now just to get by, mounted a fuse block in the compartment to keep it neat



Fridge slide in



Compressor mounted and wired in, Fridge, compressor swicth on the side with quick connect air fitting to. (10m hose is ideal to reach all 4 tyres easily)
