I gave my father my old MK triton and he got two of the harnesses from this site
https://www.stedi.com.au/quick-fit-high ... -play.html

So he gave me one, but I tried to fit the plug from the MQ but would not fit.
In doing some more research, I found
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Driving-Ligh ... 1850936188
which where the adapter looks more like the one on the MQ. A $40 harness to a $150 harness :(

Look up the type of bulb you have and get an adaptor to suit.

This information is available right here on the forum, just takes a search. It's also in your handbook.

Note that for those with the HID D5S system there will be no separate high beam line since there is just the one bulb. You'll need to pick up the high beam signal elsewhere.

The correct OEM driving light harness has everything you need eg; Engine bay Loom, inc relay, plugs to connect. Internal Loom, switch, Its all plug and play and you don't need to run a single wire thru from engine bay to inside of cab or remove a headlight plug,
That's my 2 bobs worth and the way I went,, Cheers

That's this one, that OP posted a link to above, Wunsie?

mq_drv_light_harness.jpg

$150 but dead easy, plug & play.

Two questions:
Where does that little switch go on the dash? Doesn't look like it would fit in any of the standard switch blanks.

Is it really 30m wide x 80m high and 20m long? :P

That is the pajero sport loom. Would need to drill out one of the blanks in centre console.

What makes it Pajero Sport, rather than MQ, which it purports to be?

thanks for all your responses, appreciate your help.
I'm in I.T so when it comes to cars, I'm in the dark, but try and do as much as I can with help from you guys :D

Wunsie - "you don't need to run a single wire thru from engine bay to inside of cab", is there already wiring from the cab to the engine bay to hook into ?

with the pic that "NowForThe5Th" posted, it looks that you have to put the switch thru the firewall

Dealers attempted to sell it to me to fit to my mq, told me it was for pajero sport but same connections. Took one look at the switch and said no thanks. Waited for the genuine mq harness which came with a switch that fit perfectly in the blanks

The Loom which contains the switch plugs into a connector behind the LH kick panel ;)
Also the Kit I got from Mitsubishi OEM , the switch matches the others, nothing like that shitty little one

Ahhh. So there are two different kits for MQ and PS.

Good knowledge to have. Thanks, Wunsie.

Yes mate, Part # is definitely; Harness Driving Lamp MZ350456
Other codes on carton are N783 & 019754 if that helps, not sure what they relate to, maybe Mitsubishi parts bin Identification numbers, Kit also contains a small loom for the GLX with halogen headlights
Cheers all

Hey WUNSIE, would you be able to explain where exactly that adapter is or what it looks like? If the stock harness can connect into this adapter behind the kick panel, could you not just tap into it with an aftermarket harness to avoid taking your own wire through the fire wall?

Or am I missing something?

Id say the wiring is already in place from Mitsubishi as one of the connectors in the engine bay near the LH headlight plugs into the loom from relay and the loom to the switch then connects onto the one behind kick panel, so if you are pretty savvy with electrics and sourcing which wires what cant see any reason why not as it would only be a trigger wire to throw the relay ( maybe ) !!!!!!!
Please don't take my word as I am not 100% certain and Id hate to see you probing only to have 20,000 + volts shoot out your thru your feet if you happen to probe the back of the HID :o

WUNSIE, what colour is the switch that came with the harness? ie does it light up orange, blue, green?
Might order one to pick up at the next service.
Thanks in advance

Wunsie
Can you please confirm the Mitsubishi harness kit contains a switch as when spoke with my dealership they suggested not ?
Also your comment no wires from engine bay to inside of cab suggests there is no switch ? Also no removal of headlight plug what do you mean by this ?
Sounds like for HID lights the OEM harness is the only simple option .
Cheers

Hi Camo,
Definitely came with a switch, which matches OEM, and to answer your second question ( no wires to run from engine bay to cabin ), Once you plug the loom into the appropriate plugs in the engine bay ( behind LH Headlight ),screw relay into place, you then complete the installation from a plug behind the LH kick panel which connects to the switch ( which switches on/off lighbar/spotties,
The necessary wiring / Loom from engine bay to kick panel is already in place, all you need to know and follow is in the detailed instructions with the kit. ;)
