USB music problem

USB music problem

Postby Woodman on Mon Jul 28, 2014 8:03 pm

Hello,
When playing MP3's through the USB connection in the glovebox the music jumps and skips. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and a fix?
Cheers Woody

It's a June 2013 GLXR. I'm wondering if the USB stick has too big a memory (2G), I might try a smaller one and see if I've got the same problem .

I ran a 16gb stick. manual says up to 32gb support. Do you have the sat nav mmcs or the standard stereo? Ill check my usb again tomorrow. only had it on for a few seconds.

Funny you write about this issue, because I bought a 16GB sandisk USB drive, filled it with music and the 1st time I played it it jumped and carried on. The second time I ever used it it did it a couple of times, but has never done it since. Its weird that it only happened twice. Mine is a 2014 GLX-R.

I have a 2012 GLXR with the standard stereo and havnt been able to work out how to play a USB. A quick tip on here would save me reading the manual!

Just a thought but are the USB sticks V1.0 / 2.0 or 3.0 and what is the version USB reader in the glovebox?

Suggests poor connections.

I'd try reseating any connectors involved.

With everything turned off give a USB stick a bit of rubbing over the USB socket a few times. Sometimes other could be a microfilm of corrosion on contacts.

Also be worth doing a reformat on the USB stick before loading music on it.

If none of this changes anything, its possible that the player firmware may be corrupted.
