Upgrade starter battery with increased CCA for winch use

Upgrade starter battery with increased CCA for winch use

Postby Sandstorm76 on Sun Jan 01, 2017 10:16 pm

i have just ordered a winch and the recommendations are that the battery must be at least 650 CCA to avoid damage to the winch, which will void warranty. Looking at a few reports today and most winches appear to have a minimum of 650 CCA requirement for effective operation. As the MQ starter battery is 622 CCA I am thining that I might require an upgrade to have the minimum CCA requirement of 650 CCA. What are others doing, please? Is 622 CCA really going to ruin my new winch? I see one of the mainstream car shops has 30 percent off batteries at the moment. Shall I bite the bullet and upgrade while the batteries are cheaper?? Advice appreciated. Thanks

I bought one for a Hilux once when they had a 20% off, that's another $50 off
