Factory reverse camera pinouts

Factory reverse camera pinouts

Postby fracturedranga on Sun Aug 12, 2018 2:48 pm

Hi guys,
Had a search with no joy so hoping someone can help,
I put a triple M tray on my new Triton, came with everything except a loom extension for the reverse camera,
Got around to extending it today and now all I get is a black screen with the guide lines.
What are the pinouts for the stock plug on the chassis rail
At the camera I had 5 leads a red, yellow, 2 blacks and a white.
The white is stripped back to bare in the short loom
The 2 blacks are crimped together in the loom.
Common sense would say white is a shield as its bare and contacts the foil wrap, black would be negative, no idea why there are 2, red and yellow would be 12v and signal,
What are the corrosponding pins on the chassis plug, im sure ive got it joined right so unless the little bit of heat from soldering has stuffed the camera I've got no idea what's going on?

Worked it out all good, the loom plugs on the tub swap pin locations for the signal from where the camera plus in at the tailgate to where it plugs into the loom at the chassis
Pinouts for the loom plug as follows this is the tub loom side
Yellow - signal
Brown and yellow/redstripe - negative
White - 12v
White/red stripe- shield
Signal and -12v could be the other way round dint actually test but it works

It's still in the shed pulling the pump drive gears out this weekend and putting in a new fuel pump. If it breaks down again I'm going to torch it :D
