Hi All

Hi Guys,
recently been pointed in the direction of this great site. Im the proud owner of a 09 GLS Fastback on the Gold Coast. In fact its her first birthday tomorrow. And she got a new ECU as an early present on Monday. Cant believe what a difference it has made. feel a little sorry for the rear tyres now though :D .

You have some good reading on the site. might be a little dangerous, as i found myself adjusting the waste gate actuator last night at 10:30. :D and next is the EGR that should not be there in the first place.

Any of you guys know much about the fuel filter in the 3.2 diesels? had my 30,000km service recently and i have been having problems with air in the water trap ever since. it got so bad that the car was unable to start (and when she was going, it would surge badly). Eventually found the problem myself (no thanks to the service mechanic) and have bled the air out, and everything was back to normal for a while then started having the same problem again with more air in the water trap. Only thing i can think of is the dealer stuffed the replacement of the fuel filter during the service. Any suggestions.

Thanks all

Geoff (Diablo)

The ECU (ment to say diesel power module) is great. need to get it on the dyno, but torque should be round 570nm and about 150 rwhp. not bad for a for pot diesel. Really notice the difference driving. have no problems spinning the rear wheels now. didnt think my triton could be this fun on the road.

yep, thats the chip. the old seat of the pants dyno agrees. now i just need to get the fuel issue i have (believe caused by my dealer service department sorted - cause it was there before the chip) and it will be play time.

justin wasted no time in getting my email to him on his ad lol. but he has been really great to deal with. According to his dyno graph i should have those numbers. but wont know for sure unless I get mine dyno'd. It certainly feels like it. "accidently" drifted it round a roundabout a bit. oops.

I have Newpro-Tech HID in the head lights (55w digital slim) and in the foglights (35w digital slim). Both 8000k colour temp.

been really impressed with them.

I have a pic of the unit installed under my headlight (for the main lights) if you want to get an idea of the size etc. but the install looks almost factory, and there is almost no evidence of it :D

Will be getting another 2 sets in the near future for my spotties.

Pricing is good on them too!

I have 35w and reckon they are almost too bright for road use on low beam, particularly in a high 4WD - would probably like 55w for hi beam though.

How do you find the 55w low beam - anyone flash you or start ripping at their rear view mirror at lights? People often seem noticeably uncomfortable at traffic lights with my 35's but never been flashed while driving.

Also found the 4300-5000K work the best as far as light colour goes. How do you find the 8000k?

I find the 55w hi/low beam really good. after installing i got a lot of people flash me so i adjusted the lighs down a bid and now very rarely get flashed. have the same prob at traffic lights though, as we are a bit higher than you average sedan and it goes straight through their rear window. \

As for colour, im really happy with the 8000k. everything is clear and white. and they are not quite as bright as say the 6000k.

When i do my spotties, i will prob put in the 55w 6000k lights.

how do i go about inserting and image?

Open a free www.photobucket.com account.

Upload the pics to it from your computer, then hover over the pic you like. A drop down menu will appear. Click on the 'img' code and cut and paste it in your post.

Jeez that was quick!

You did a better job than me. I didn't remove the headlight - just siliconed the drivers side ballast in where you have yours  and screwed the passenger one onto the outside of the battery box - seems to be almost similar position to the V6 - maybe yours is further back.

i removed my lights to make it look as neet and tidy as possible. seeing as its kinda illegal to use them with out auto leveling headlights. most importantly if im ever pulled over there is no way they can tell exactly with im running as they would have to dismantal the car. :D Everything is pretty much hidden under the lights. as for the fog lights (no pic unfortunatly) I cable tied the ballast in behind the foglights on the steel supports that run through there. again to see you would have to remove the fog lights. i have not put any holes in mine either. never know i was there ;)
