New Triton Gls...

Postby tagisthename on Tue May 05, 2009 4:39 pm

Greetings all.....
Well after 4 years its time to say good bye to the Nissan str....Been a great ute and at the time of buying it was great value.....Only done 37,000 so sold it privately and after much testing have ordered the Gls......show room pics below...
Believe it or not the best price was either WA or Vic.....
Being SA based not only did the vic dealership throw in two airfares and accommadation but undercut the best offer in SA by thousands of dollars.......
Was going to get a glx-r from same dealer which would have saved me $4000....
Ended up going for a gls for less then the price of a glx-r in SA and got myself a up market vehicle......
Do not believe I can loose...The only people I see loosing are SA dealerships....Just can't believe that you can save Thousands of dollars by going interstate.......
Now just need a few days to pick it up from Melbourne and enjoy the drive back to Adelaide......

Well done. Good to see South Aussies looking outside the state for good deals too. That $4000 saving amounts to a few good mods. ;) Where abouts in SA are you from?
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal labotomy!

It ain't pretty being easy!!

Looks good mate does it have sunroof as standard being the GLS :?:
Also you said best price was WA or VIC and was wondering what price you got quoted from WA and which dealer for the GLX-R :?: :?:

Picked up the black beast Monday and drove back to Adelaide over two days by way of the Great Ocean Road...
The most impressive thing I can say is that the Triton reminds me of the old 253 V8...
On the open road foot down feel the power...even sounds like the old 253 ......
Truth be told there are so many impressive things about this car......
Fuel econmy is way better then the nissan str 3 litre...
750k on the first tank....plenty in reserve fuel light had not come on....ok...slower speeds running it in. etc ...
but still very impressive for the first tank....
more later...
cheers all

Welcome to the forum & congrats on the GLS mate. ;)
You can sit there complaining, or you can knit me some seat belts.

Great news Tag, I am waiting on delivery of my black GLS. Did you get a tub liner with yours, our dealer said they don't fit well because of the drain tube? 8-)

Thanks for that, is it possible to get a couple of photos so i can take them to my dealer? The area they are concerned about is near the locking brackets and the area near the top and bottom of the drain.???? Appreciate the help
