I'm amazed you didn't savour the fumes of petrol while contently misfueling.

When I did it a few years ago, I thought how great it smelled until I clicked at 30litres!

Hi, guess what, happened to me very early morning start of covid A4 sheets of paper all over pumps warning of covid! Stupid me picked up petrol hose and filled her up!! 20 km down the road engine stopped. Towed back to town engine stuffed, fuel pump seized and broke timing belt then crash pistons into valves. Well that cost about 8 grand for replacement engine and fitting!
You were lucky.
Still sorting problems out with replacement engine. Fault codes

Ha Ha..ouch! Not funny.

You were obviously enjoying the fumes.

Diesel nozzles used to be bigger at the pumps to prevent people misfuelling their petrol unit. I'm pretty sure most of the nozzles look the same now.

They could come up with a better nozzle design to prevent misfuelling. Simple key design would be relatively cheap solution.

I'm amazed you got 20kms.

They were. and still are. But, primarily to stop people using leaded fuel in vehicles designed for unleaded.

It wasn't necessary to have a nozzle that prevented misfuelling of a diesel since those who drove diesels were generally professionals and knew the difference.

Times have changed. :(

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

I'm waiting to see how it all pans out when we're all queuing to recharge. It'll be like the covid toilet paper wars. Drivers racing to the charging node, ripping cables out of each other's hands.

Ah..not a problem...many years before there are many EVs in Australia.
