Thanks for the thumbs up. Got me scared almost because of the holes ;-).

Today start building my new led spot lights. Going for a 400.000 lumen setup. 20 200w 50v lights.
Gonna need some extra batteries and some good step ups for 12v to 50v.

Will post pictures soon of lighting up the sky.

What sort of turning circle do those doughnuts allow? Looks like
you'd need half a football field.

Those brakes do well on a Porsche with all those holes...

Has anyone painted their chrome grille to a flat black? I've never liked the plastic chrome look.

That took about 5 sec's using the "SEARCH FORUM" function. ;)

Easy as with plastidip man, just unclip the grill and blast with a few coats. I think i did 4 on my grille, been over 6 months and still holding strong, no chips, scratches or peeling.

Thanks for the reply Jacobie. Do you have a picture of your finished grille?

Cheers.

Took my bash plates off to re-paint them. While they were off I drove to the shops and really noticed the weight difference, might look into some lighter weight plates one day  .

Also fitted a rear diff breather hose, I was gonna do the front one but it looks pretty good as it is so left it alone.

I weighed them, came in at about 19kg. Could have been a placebo effect though

Today, fixed the broken bash plate mount and replaced the other one before it breaks too, finished painting the bash plates and then went and picked up a few things I need to install my snorkel when it arrives :D

Today I spent 45 minutes on the search option trying to find any info on 2WD low range for my ML 3.2 triton.
My ute won't reverse up my steep driveway unless I get a run at it which is no fun as there is the meter box on one side and the fence on the other and not much room. Just put new 265 70 r16 on and it struggles then stops as the revs drop. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks John

There are 2 threads about it, one longer thread in the platinum area and a less detailed one in the main forum. In both cases you need posts from Snooozy for the core info. Did you end up finding what you were looking for?
The Hitchhiker's guide to the the Triton universe and NTN.

A how to on finding your own way - search me.

The two threads I wish people would use more: thing 1 and thing 2.

thanks everyone for help, will go now to Snoozy's thread. Also the above post (snakesoup) mentioned just use lowrange in reverse and in short distance won't damage anything. I have LSD, easy select gearbox manual, so centre diff is locked in lowrange, new tyres (plenty grip Grabbers) on concrete driveway. I would love to try that but don't want to wind up and pop something. If I do attempt that method, is it better to leave it in lowrange and roll back down the driveway to unwind the driveline...thanks again John

you will not get windup in low range 2wd as the front & rear are not locked together.

 just re read your previous post. you meant LR4wd & windup.

if it is a straight line it should be ok & rolling forward should neutralise any windup.

If you go down the LR 2WD mod option & have any questions I will do my best to answer them. It was a few years back when I did the mod so I may have to have a look at how I did it.

It sounds like you have a very similar setup to mine with LSD Easy Select & manual so it should just come down to wiring colours on your year version. Although from the wiring chart I used I'm pretty sure they should be the same.

good luck

By doing the mod listed in the link above you can have low range 2wd at the flick of a switch.
turn on the switch & place the lever in 4 low & it will engage low range but not the front diff, hence low range 2wd

Added some bug protection to the grille, bullbar and snorkel. Got tired of cleaning the bugs off everything. Keeping an eye on the temperature but no issues so far.

Also painted the front grille matte black. Thanks Jacobie. Kept the Mitsubishi logo nice and shiny so the hilux and patrol owners don't think I'm hiding it. ;)
