Anything Triton related

plug n go ml triton

Postby Curtotriton on Fri Feb 26, 2016 6:15 pm

:D :D Hi guys
I have a 2008 ML triton Olympic model manual with 2 1/2 inch pipe and egr block. I am driving from NSW to Cape York.
I was contemplating getting a plug and go from 4wd supa centre.
They are advertised as eliminating flat spots, and turbo lag for towing and performance.
Has anyone had one or any news. It seemed like an easier/ cheaper option than a stienbauer chip.
Any information would be awesome.
Thanks
I tried posting before but I don't think it worked.
Could not see any other threads re same.

"Plug and go" and a Steinbauer are very different.

"Plug and go" or a Windbooster (possibly cheaper) change the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal. They don't increase kw or get rid of flat spots or "turbo lag".

Steinbauer do increase kw. A custom Ecu remap will give greater effects.

Hi

Does anyone know the CFM of the standard airbox by any chance.

Was a bit of a question about whether my newly fitted apollo flowed enough under sustained load eg soft sand and could lead to overheating .

Thanks

Time for another reminder fellas.

This thread is for exactly what the title says. If you can't find it and you've had a proper look with Search then ask here where it is.

It's not a thread for questions and answers or for those who couldn't be bothered looking for the right place to post.

Please use it for its proper purpose.

Yeah that was my bad, being a little bit lazy there

It's already been moved to the Random Suspension Questions thread. Where it should be lol.

We already have threads for that - Random Suspension Questions being just one example; there are lots more. No, the problem is that important information gets lost. Look at the What Did You Do To Your Triton Today thread. More than a few really great ideas in there but unless you can remember and search then they're gone.

From time to time I have a bit of a clean up here, moving stuff to where it should be, as do some of the other Mods. But it's a big job and no-one wants to spend all their time on the forum just doing admin. We're here as members too.

I wasn't singling you out, but, yeah, when too many people do it, tidying up becomes a chore.

Let's just use this thread for its original purpose - to help those whose search skills aren't quite developed yet find the information that they're after.

Yep, MediCar in Bibra lake, Port Kembla drive, next door to the Tip tavern, good service and reasonable price.

Has anyone had issues with leaking from the rear main seal? just had mine back from the mechanics for the second time about the leak, says the old seal had worn a groove into the crankshaft and causing the oil leak.

Anyone have an experience with sleeving the crankshaft, i cant seem to find anything about crankshaft repair sleeves for the 4M41.

Morning All

Could someone point me in the direction of some tips for checking if my manifold is sooting up?

Am i correct in thinking i to unbolt the EGR valve and have a poke around in the intake ?

Do i need to get any gaskets or something to replace when i do the check

Thanks

Just take the egr valve off and look inside, you'll know bad from good. No new gasket required, just tighten the bolts common sense tight and don't try and snap them.

Thoughts so, thanks mate, always good to check when you are not 100% sure :)

Okay I am booked in for a Roo Systems ECU remap and SS 3" exhaust, I searched but couldn't find a specific thread on this (experience, cost etc...) any objections to me starting a new thread with this topic ?

Cheers,

Pat.

No specific thread for Roo Systems yet, although they've had 300+ mentions in other places. No problem, so long as it doesn't degenerate into yet another "I have xxxx".
